He would definitely be my choice! Great singer and he's still got his chops. His problem might be keeping him out of jail long enough for a tour.

You see the incentive he has for staying in, right?

A legendary band going on tour with a game show contest winner is laughable.
Except Lambert didnt win

I think I'm one of the few on here who actually likes Adam Lambert, but this. . . just not sure. Some really good moments, some not so much. Good to see Brian and Roger though.

His vibrato can get really annoying at times.

It sure can - he sounds like a goat on some of the songs - especially We Are the Champions. Ugh - I think he's talented but I like him much better on his own stuff.

Have to agree with ya there. Like his own stuff better too, not sure if I dig him on these Queen songs either, although Radio Gaga and Want to Break Free were pretty good, but yeah some just didn't sound right. My daughter just bought Adam's new cd, I'll have to have a listen.
See ya Monday! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sH0DPx2jkok
Triple S wrote:I have the new CD but have only listened all the way through once - just hasn't grabbed me yet the way the first one did. And yes - see you Monday- I'm having this totally irrational fear that yet another rockslide in the mountains is going to prevent me from getting there. Mind you - I assume the QE guys are travelling by land from Vancouver to Calgary also - so if I don't make it neither will they!

My own view is that, whilst Brian and Roger obviously like the guy and what he has to offer, that his isn't right to front Queen (they are doing 6 shows in all; Ukraine, Poland, Russia and UK (3)) and going by the online reviews the first show was a combination of the good, the train wreck (Brian's words) and the mediocre, however I will wait and see. Their combination on the European MTV Awards in Belfast earlier in the year didn't enamour it to me.
I bought 'Trespassing' whilst in the States and its a good, if unmemorable, Pop album. He sings his own material well but that, on its own, isn't good enough to get him to front Queen. When we were in Canada we saw the first 3 QE shows and they were fantastic and all 4 singers were tremendous and it could well have been Queen+Friends.
I will keep my own counsel on Q+AL until I have seen it in the 'flesh'.

I think Martel's voice, respect for the original material, combined with his humble nature is the ultimate homage to Freddy...
It wouldn't surprise me a bit if, after the Extravaganza Tour is done, they draft Martel for a"final" Queen tour..
