Tyler leaves AI

Tyler said he thought "long" and "hard" about whether to continue but said the time was right to return to his "first love", his band.

"I've decided it's time for me to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbit.
I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I'm back - but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I've got two fists in the air and I'm kicking the door open with my band."

Aerosmith is on a nationwide tour with Tyler and has an album due out in the autumn.

How long was he on there? 1 or 2 seasons? Doesn't seem very long. Seems like this show has just about run its course. It wasn't that cool to begin with, and it's super lame to have a revolving panel of judges every season or 2.

Probably got tired of the bullshit show. I did even though I've never seen one entire episode.

And it appears that Randy Jackson doesn't want to come back as a judge but a mentor. I think AI has run its course, complete IMHO. I didn't watch every season of it, but I'll say I watched it more to see Simon tear somebody completely apart rather than the show itself. Shows like this churn out way too many pop stars, with their manufactured music. I think they need to revamp it and have a hard rock addition of it.

Let's hope this is when they finally put an end to that waste of a show.

What if there was a show that featured entire amature bands playing original songs only and competing against each other and all the personal drama that AI circled around is removed? I think it would be more interesting to watch a show like that, to get an idea how entire bands play, write and perform their own music, not based on one single singer at a time. Unlike AI, I would like to see such bands playing on a good sound stage, not the unplugged type of stuff that AI sort of did.

What I didn't like about AI is that what little I saw, which was entirely through Youtube vids, is that it's too much geared on drama. That's one thing I'm not interested in watching, how people take loosing and shit like that.

Tylers statement:

“After some long...hard...thoughts…I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit,” Tyler said. “I strayed from my first love, AEROSMITH, and I’m back – but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I’ve got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band. The next few years are going to be dedicated to kicking some serious ass – the ultimate in auditory takeover…"

Translation:

The band told me to leave AI or they'd replace me, and I had to beg them to keep me...

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Anyone got the tally of how many times his foul mouth has gotten bleeped out on air? I'm sure he makes the parents cringe.

Makeup does wonders.

Watch this video to see how he looks up close. He sort of reminds me of back in the late 80's when we'd go into a bar and a female prostitute left over from WWII would come up to us with a business proposition.

Swell. The best reason yet not to watch it. Sure seems like they are going through quite a few judges on that show these days.
