Album Art - Hendrix to Journey

Don't know why, but the CD packaging for Neal's new album made me think of all the old gorgeous album artwork done by Kelley and Mouse. Scanning Stanley Mouse's website revealed this fact that was previously unknown to me:

Kelley and Mouse were working on a Jimi Hendrix cover but Jimi died before it was released. That art morphed into several covers for Journey, including Infinity, Escape and Captured.

Anyone else know about this??

Artwork for albums since the smaller format of CD's came along have been for the most point lack luster. There just isn't enough room on a 4x4 inch space for really good art ....like they used to have on LP's...............Younger generation look up LP if you don't have a clue what I am talking about! LOL

I have not seen Neal's solo album yet but I will check out the cover. I am still a little less than enthusiastic about all the scandalous mess he created last year. I wish his girl would have broke it off with her husband then got back with Neal if she wanted to. It would have made things a bit more stomach-able. But it is his life and I cannot control what he or she does with their lives. I am sure the music will be good anyway.

I have a book autographed by Stanley Mouse that contains a boatload of photos of his artwork. I'll have to look in there to see if it mentions any of this.
