How many times a day do you HEAR DSB in the workplace?

Postby Don » Fri Aug 10, 2012 7:26 am

I'm not talking about necessarily listening to it, but just hearing it on your sound system or another office or cubicle or just somewhere in the office space in general.
For me, I'm thinking at least four times along with AWYW twice, WITS twice and then Lights OA, Faithfully and Separate Ways at least once every day.

You must work at Sony.

No, but I've done work for Warner Music and Clear Channel.

I've spent time at different Sony properties though when with friends, all music companies are like one big fraternity in that respect.

At my old job I literally heard it every single time I went in to work.

None. I used to listen to the radio in my office, but haven't for over a year now, got sick of all the repeats and crap. I listen to my IPOD..........last one that came on was this classic Survivor track. :) Not much of a Survivor fan, but I love when this one comes up on the IPOD. One of my favorite songs.

What kind of jobs do you have? The last time I had a job where anyone would play a stereo while working was roughly 20 years ago. In the more professional environments, it's a distraction.

Times have changed. Now everything is business casual and having some form of music playing is part of making customers and visitors comfortable not to mention your own employees. Our open floor areas (more than one) have separate radios for those departments while each office has their own music also.
I'm an analyst but haven't worn a tie in over a decade. It's definitely not the 90s anymore when everyone was uptight, overworked and dressed to the nines.

I've heard it played over the airport's sound system. They're always playing music for the passengers to listen to. Outside of that, I haven't heard it unless I put in a Journey DVD at work to watch during lunch or something. I've done that a few times. I, of course, hear both sides on that one, from "Oh, I love Journey", to "Who the fuck put that shit on?"
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.
