I did this when I was about 16., then a year later, joined the military. I moved around quite a bit for the next several years. When I was about 26 years old I got a letter from a collection agency, did some quick research, which revealed that the statute of limitations had run out. They couldn't legally collect the debt and the agency was told this and I never heard from them again.
