Nope. But 2013 could be the year Perry finishes his in-house studio and starts recording. Doesn't mean he'll release what he records, but I think he'll start messing around in the studio again.

He went from 84 to 94 so I'm betting on 2014.

Btw, wasn't the in-house studio finished this year?

No new music from Steve

I say this in the most optimistic voice I have; I have my doubts. We have been down this road before. If you start seeing paparazzi photos of Steve with Jack Blades, Jonathan Cain, David Foster, or any other writers of music, you will know something is coming. I thought I saw him lurking behind the drum riser at a recent Journey concert, but I couldn't see really well. It looked like whoever it was, was getting ready to burst on stage, but then this person ran away.

Do we really need to bring this up again? It is getting boring. Appreciate the music we have and forget about hearing anything new, it ain't gonna happen. Every year this subject crops up, and every year nothing happens. It's over. Accept it! Move on.

But those other years he wasn't building a recording studio in his house! While I'm not convinced he's going to release anything, he sure as hell isn't building that studio not to create something.

He does have a new studio and he must certainly consider getting in it and doing something. I don't doubt that he has material. A friend of mine did mention Steve, David Foster and his new studio, but couldn't / wouldn't lay claim to a source. We probably are getting all wet again over nothing, but the elements to make it happen are undeniably there.

He may well be experimenting at home, but don't expect a new album...ever! The glory days are gone.

By the time a resurgence album comes to be, people who remember are going to be dead and be going......who?

That premise alone ought to be enough to motivate someone who was significant and wants to be heard from again before the final light whithers away.

Hey Guys I am back to check out what has been going on here. :)

Seems like old times here, some of us won't stop believing while others have given up waiting.

I can't help thinking about all that money Steve is spending on a home studio, after all why would he need one now? :?

It's like why would he put that in his house if he didn't want to use it? :?

My thought is that he has some plans he is not telling us yet.

So I hope Lora & Cyndi will have a Birthday message from Steve this year, his birthday is only a few weeks away.

Meanwhile we await great new music and I wish you all a Happy New Year! 8)

Oh yeah, let's see more SP in 2013!!!! :D

Peace.

Perry building a studio in his house is not an indicator that he is going to release anything soon...

Besides.. Perry is no stranger to the recording studio.. and any studio in the world would welcome him with "open arms"... except any instance of him going into a commercial studio would be instant news on the L.A.S. (Loon Alert System)

It just means he wants to record at home....

Interesting you should say that, Steve. For as long as I can remember, when you entered "Steve" in Google, Perry was ALWAYS listed in the suggestions - ALWAYS! Not tonight though. Could that alone be a sign that he isn't being researched as much? Hmm.....

As for him "waiting" for just the right time... he's been doing that for way too long. I mean, he's going to be sixty-fucking-three in 3 weeks!  How many artists in the history of the world have launched their comeback once they've become eligible for Social Security?! I'll help you out with that one..... NONE! Anyone who still believes that selfish, self-centered, self-serving (let's see... is 3 "self's" enough....? Yeah, I guess...) bastard is going to ever stand behind a mic with tape rolling needs to get serous psychological help. If his voice wasn't completely shot before, it smost assuredly is now. Age and nature wreak havoc on men's voices over time and the older one gets, the faster it deteriorates. He would forever ruin the memory and the legacy that is Steve Perry's voice should he release anything featuring him singing. He would embarrass himself and soil his own name and we all know he would NEVER do anything that would tarnish his image - both the one his fans have of him and the even bigger one he has of himself!

   Uhh.... no... not specifically. I mean, my name's Steve, so more often than not I'm entering my first name to see if I've become famous enough that my full name pops up in a 'Google suggested' results list.   JUST KIDDING!
Seriously though, I've just noticed over time that no matter the particular Steve I'm searching, his name's always been popular enough to be there so when it wasn't....
Do the same thing on basically any search engine, Youtube, Yahoo, etc., and his name's always there - orrrrrr at least it was.... Image
That was funny though Tater!

All I know is, if JUSTIN HAYWARD at AGE 66 can tour relentlessly with The Moody Blues and still put out a new solo album (and vocally sound fantastic, BTW), Steve Perry can do the same. Especially when all HE seems to be doing is chilling out and crashing people's recording sessions!!!

Seriously, though, he must be very content to do nothing or he would have done something already. He just needs to stop mentioning in any of his radio interview appearances or otherwise that he is working on things, etc. because that is just a glorified musical cocktease for his loyal fans.
