Watching this during the commercials of monday night raw. Haven't seen it in forever.
ET actually scared the crap outta me when I first saw it as young lad. Who else has
memories of this classic?

Two notable things that come to mind about ET were:
1. The ridiculously long lines! Back then, the Super-Mega-Colossal Cineplex didn't exist. The theater where I saw it had 4 screens - all showing ET and every showing was sold out, which brings me to...
2. It was still in theaters for over a year IIRC with some evening shows STILL selling out!

Liked the movie but got sooooooooooooo sick of hearing about it and hearing "Turn on your heartlight...." God, I wanted to punch Neil Diamond in the forehead so bad!

I was like 18 when this came out. Remember going to see it with my girlfriend at the time, a hot blond. I'm wearing a tank top and fuck it if I didn't shed some tears watching it. It feels kind of dated now, but for it's time was a great movie.

Saw it for the first time ten years ago when they put it back in theaters. Loved it.

Yup...I recall newspaper movie listings for E.T. with banners like "NOW IN IT'S 53RD WEEK!!"....

This was the first movie I ever saw in the cinema at the tender age of 4! It's stuck with me my whole life! LOVE this movie! :D

The only childhood memory I have of this movie is the joke that followed in school, which was:

Q: What does E.T. stand for?

A: Extra Testicle
