Which music act would you most likely want to see on their next tour as a co-headliner or special guest?

The Revelation tour with Cheap Trick and Heart was enormously successful and appealed to a huge number of music lovers. It would be great if they toured with just Heart which would give both acts more stage time and could keep the ticket prices lower than if it was a 3-act bill.
I also think a Journey/Earth Wind and Fire show would be a HUGE draw as well. THAT would be one Hell of a show!

For my money, the 2005 Classic Rock's Main Event tour with Journey, Styx, and REO was the ultimate 70's/80's bill. And IIRC the tix were uber-cheap - something like $40 for decent seats $25.00 for less decent seats and $15 for lawn or something crazy like that.

I think Journey with Chicago or the Beach Boys would be pretty cool. I wouldnt mind just heart with them or Boston as a special guest.

Van Halen! I don't think VH would do it, but that would be epic for me.

Van Halen makes a million bucks a show, Journey just under 500,000. Co-headlining ain't happening with that much of a disparity.

For VH, going with Kool and the Gang as an opener was the perfect "out of the box" type of package that makes them the success they are when touring.

Lionel Richie. The guy had one of the Top 10 best selling albums of the year in 2012. Journey co-headlines with him, they'll be a top 10 road act in 2013.

That's how Lionel got all of his album sales last year, he did duets of all of his hits with country superstars. For the Europe release, he included some duets with well known country style singers over there. BOOM! his best selling record since forever.

a local band, or a newer band, which would let Journey play the deep cuts.
I dont want to pay 100's to hear the same old dirty dozen.

and let Deen Sing! Arnel does a good mimicry, but Deen sings from the heart.

There's actually four of them. Journey and Whitesnake are co-headlining with special guests Toto and Survivor.

Out of the ones listed above either Foreigner or Boston. Wild dream would be to see them and Chickenfoot with Neal and Deen joining Sammy, Mike, and Joe on stage to rip up some HSAS and Planet US.

It's sort of sad seeing Toto and Survivor listed as Special Guests for the Journey/Whitesnake shows in Germany. These guys took home SIX Grammy awards in one night! With them having so much popularity in Asia, I'm surprised that Lukather has never gone the youtube route like Schon did. If they did that and got themselves a Filipino frontman, these guys would outsell Journey in the Philippines and that's a fact. They've got the kind of music catalog that people in the RP, Singapore, Japan and Indonesia absolutely love. Even Bobby Kimball has been known to troll Filipino Malls to promote his solo gigs since there are so many fans over there.

Are you talking about Kimball? He still sings; I saw him with Mickey Thomas opening for Foreigner a few years ago. From what I gleamed from The Toto forum, he and Lukather have some SERIOUS issues that precludes him from ever being back in the fold. He sounded fine a few years back (Mickey Thomas still blows everybody away, even if he is in his 60s). No, I think getting a Filipino chameleon that can sing any of lead guy parts for Toto would make all of Asia that band's oyster. A second wind big time for those guys. Toto was never a vocalist led band like Journey, they were pretty much faceless but just great at making music. I think them getting an Asian guy would not be as polarizing as it was for Journey initially.

Right now, I have to give the edge to Lukather, he is still technically innovative and always fine-tuning his craft. Neal, for whatever reason, is just sloppy.

I never thought of Toto for special guest in the states, but that would be a really cool concert. It would bring a new dynamic to the Journey concerts, instead of having the same old bands like styx, reo, night ranger..etc.

I would go see a Journey concert with special guest Toto!

Seeing as it's Journey, there would probably be TWO special guests. Journey doesn't seem interested at all in having a 20 song setlist these days.

When will they understand that quantity of shows doesn't equate to quality of performance. If there is a concern about vocal fatigue, do less shows but make them longer so those who do buy tickets get their full money's worth. I'm not a big fan of Springsteen but 27 songs every night is great. Even Van Halen was averaging 22 songs per show.

Actually, a band I've always wanted to see live with Journey is... Y&T

Dave Meniketti has always been underrated as a guitarist and songwriter. Trouble is that unless is was a three band bill, I don't think Y&T would be anywhere enough of a draw to support a Journey tour. But musically, it would be a great show...

I love Toto, but I'm a Kimball loyalist. Williams never did anything for me, how good is he live?

I'd like to say put them with Rush but that wouldn't slide up here if Geddy, Alex and Neil were the opening act.

Boston would be cool, having seen them in the summer, I'd jump at a second chance and on a bill with Journey, even more so.

I'd pay for another concert with them and Foreigner no question, too. That was a fantastic show. I was on my feet singing the whole time... until the security guard incident...

Did you actually see Kimball live? Both are good singers. By most accounts, Joe is more consistent, but he also lets the back-up singers carry him.

Well, apparently, it's bad concert etiquette to be standing, fist pumping and singing along while dressed as a complete fucking metalhead during a heavy Journey tune (it was EOTM). Molson Ampitheatre blows.

I was cruelly denied the opportunity to see Kimball live, I've heard he's pretty bad in that setting though. I meant that Williams never did anything for me in the studio (whereas Kimball did).

Don't feel bad, my party and I were the only ones standing during EOTM in Nashville. I was dancing and singing along until I glanced behind me and saw 18k people on their asses. That killed the mood real quick.
