And no I'm not there.

You need to be a musician, in the business or have a nice rack.

I guess his Norelco doesn't work on the US electrical system.

Great picture. Who's the guy he's with? Don't just say John, dammit!

John Payne. He is Asia's version of Steve Augeri. An established musician who came in to the group after it had reached it's zenith of commercial success.

I was going to say he looked familiar, but I wouldn't know what John Payne looks like, so I guess not.

Very cool that Andrew is there at NAMM time! Such great jams always going on around NAMM with all the artists kicking it with their peers. Jeff joined Stryper again this year, cool clip of them doing Boston's Peace of Mind........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSVAh8PV4pg Two favorite vocalists right there! :D

Was there once during NAMM time and saw Soto, Schon, Mendoza, etc do a show with JSS' solo band at a little club in Anaheim, VERY cool!

Another fun one at NAMM couple years ago, members of Night Ranger, REO, EM....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrCwj6YteR8

Even if you don't go to the convention, great place to be if your a music lover, just for all the impromptu shows/jams that pop up that week or so.

We are going to see John Payne this Friday. His band is kind of an all star band , Jay Schellen on drums , Jeff Kollman on guitar and Eric Norlander on keyboards. The other guitar player I have played with Moni Scaria, he is awesome too.

Agreed. I got Aria and played it alot in 95 but it didn't quite click with me. Thankfully, just before the JP Asia show on Friday I found it while cleaning my spare room for a guest- Now I love it. How I missed it the first time is beyond me. Really want to get the other JP Asia albums. We got complimentary VIP treatment for JP's show last Friday and got to get pics with the band and JP signed my album. Love the new song Seasons, which they debuted on stage on Friday. First class organization and band, that can truely stand on their own away from the Asia name. I'd be the first skeptic to post negative stuff about a spinoff using the name of a band, but all of that was completely erased on Friday. These guys are just totally brilliant. I hope they go far with more new music. Although I am friends with a band member and they treated us like gold, I went in open minded and I would have had positive comments regardless of that.

I just love this band, their talent level and chemistry and can't wait to see what they do.

Asia's best work came with Payne and Downes, by a long shot.
