My intentions for starting this thread were more of a "Can you believe it's been 20 years since B&B started on MTV" rather than a "B&B was such a great show! Why in God's name did it get cancelled and why would anybody watch anything else? Ever?" kind of thing.

Yeah, during my drives to work in the morning, I remember back when the radio stations were plugging the show as it's debut was approaching. I thought the very same thing, that it was dumb. I even went as far as to either shut off the radio for a minute until I knew the plug was complety over or I would simply change stations or put in a cd/cassette cause I couldn't stand listening to the characters. Eventually I knew some people who enjoyed the show and I did watch it occassionally when I was with these people. The show did have it's moments of being funny, but other than that, stupid. The show seemed to glorify grunge IMO.

But yeah, I can't believe that was 20 years ago. Lot's changed since then.

Someone needed too ! I loved them and still do. Futurama is my favorite however. I like B&B better with the videos removed.

Sure, I wasn't excited that Stuart wore the Winger shirt, but just them making fun of all types of artists in their videos made the show worth watching. And, yes, MTV did bring them back a year or two ago. They made fun of Snookie and 16 and pregnant. If that wasn't funny to you, then quite frankly, I'm scared of you.

Stewart was the perfect character to represent Winger. A nerdy kid that was late to the genre, liking stuff that wasn't very cool anymore. And with Winger coming to the 80s scene so late, it just fit perfectly.

I thought it was funny too... and I'm in a bigger minority, because I'm a woman. I watched a few of the new ones too, and thought they were funny. Even weirder, my 16 year old daughter has a Beavis and Butthead tshirt, and pajama pants, SHE wanted.

Yes they did, and I believe it only lasted a few episodes. Not sure, though. I watched the original, 'cause I was a fish in high school when it started. That's just what virgin idiots did back then. LOL

Maybe that too. The people I knew personally who watched it were either musicians in bands who liked that type of entertainment and/or young adults between the ages of 14 through 25 years of age.

One interesting thing to note is the character Mr. Anderson which went on to play the main character in King Of The Hill.

This was the B&B episode with him that I thought was funny shit. I could totally relate to the old crusty fucks hanging out at the picnik table chain drinking, as most all of the old salts in the military used to do while I was in.

Simpsons started in the late 80's, but during the 90's there was Beavis & Butthead, King Of The Hill, Futurama, Family Guy, Ren & Stimpy, South Park., have I missed any? Some, if not most were aired during prime time hours. What’s left? I think Simpsons is still on. Amazing since Simpson’s started in the late 80’s and would be pushing 30 years pretty soon. That's got to be a record.

I think I was around the 18-22 age group when B&B was so popular. Loved them! I remember a bunch of us sitting around the common area at college watching Beavis and Butthead on MTV. Fun times!

This Journey music video has always made me laugh for two reasons. First it looks like Jonathan Cain is playing a giant refrigerator magnet and second, they all look like they're playing air guitar, drums, keys, etc. Like what I used to see all the drunk military guys doing while they were sitting in clubs out on Magsaysay or in the Windjammer room in the A club in Japan listening to rock vids and playing air instruments to the music. Watching this vid always makes my day.
