Shit. Why couldn't that Akron, NY show be in Akron, OH instead? It's only a 30 minute drive for me to Akron, OH.
Toledo is about an hour and a half drive for me, I might be able to do that? But gas prices suck! Columbus is a 2 hour drive away for me.

I was considering travelling to Brookfiled, which is 4 and 1/2 hours from here.
Anyhow, now what...are they no more dead? :) I told you, they still have a name

In the past I've driven 5 hours to see them, and on several other occasions I've driven 4 hours or 3 hours to see them. But gas prices were a lot better then, and it was always a group of my friends and myself going together in one or two cars. Now I might not even be able to find anyone to go with, which would be a boring long trip.

I don't think that any of us on here doubt that Survivor can get booked to do gigs, just that Sullivan seems to lack any interest in doing anything substantial with the band.

ehi, i can understand, but it isn't just their fault if in the States they only play country-sausage fairs and stuff, while in Euorpe they are invited at the Sweden Rock

Thanks!

If I go to any of the shows scheduled so far it will have to be either Toledo or Columbus.

I just saw they are playing in DeKalb, IL, on 5/17.....John Waite is also on the bill.

Talk about shitty promotion, and I don't know where to point the finger on that one? Today is the first I have seen of the listing and it's next month.

These old bands hardly do any promoting now. It's all about their website for the die hard fans and the venues' own promotion machines. I don't think our standard 80s rock bands can afford promotion any more - definitely not their labels...

Of course, Survivor has alway had shitty promotion from their Scotti Bros days. They turned a killer album in When Seconds Count into a minor success due to lack of promotion. Should have been many more big hits off that album.

Go there, John Waite is there, reason enough. For me it is just several thousand miles to far from home...

That's what is interesting to me about the show as well. I have only seen John once...acoustic, in a Borders about 10 years ago. I did see Survivor last summer, but have never seen them with Dave fronting any of the tunes. I checked again tonight-one week out, and there's easily over 750 tickets left.
