Boston Marathon explosives were in 6-liter pressure cookers with ball bearings and placed in black duffel bags, person briefed on investigation says - @AP

My mother used to cook with one of these every great once in a while when I was a real little kid in the late 70's. I was always afraid of it because of the steam pressure sound it made while cooking with it. I always was afraid it would blow up or something. When she cooked with that pressure cooker, it was the only time I made it a point to avoid the kitchen.

I'm wondering if this person arrested is the same guy who they first took in for questioning from the get go.

So it turns out that there has not been any arrests as of yet.

Yeah, lots of pix in that previous post. Got to wonder who would show up to watch one of these with backpacks of that size. I didn't notice anyone else with huge backpacks like that in any of the pix.

Do you think it is possible that our own government is behind these events to further their means? I am not saying I believe that, but it has been suggested by others.

Or could it be that they "overlook" information pointing to threats of these types of events in order to further their agenda?

Ranking Republican Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) emerged from the briefing and said he was told the 22-year old Saudi student who was injured during the bombings and remains in the care of a local hospital was no longer a focus of investigators.

Chambliss did say that security around the country would have to change for large public events, including greater involvement by the federal government.

"This was a soft target. It was not a target that was able to be totally protected," he said. "This particular incident is going to cause the administration and Congress to evaluate our overall security programs around the country, particularly for major events. including greater involvement by the federal government. We can't leave it just to the communities that host these events to provide the security."

No surprising at all. I'm surprised B.O. himself hasn't already said something like this. I'm sure that's coming. At least DHS will get to use those tanks retro fitted for domestic use.

So, they originally had a Saudi National marked as a person of interest and then stated that they were not involved. Today, B.O.has a unscheduled meeting with the Saudi Foreign Minister to discuss the situation in Syria, according to a press release. Hmmm....

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/sns- ... 9323.story

UPDATE: Reports are starting to come out the Saudi National that was questioned is being deported.

No. I think what boomchild said is most likely, the government is ignoring threats to further their agenda.

The link to the pictures I posted are from Alex Jones's "infowars" site and they are all conspiracy advocates. I'm not personally.

However those photos are interesting to say the least. Very surprised I haven't seen them on more websites.

You're only a threat to yourself, the government doesn't fear you. You need to get off the crazy train, or better yet get laid. From what you've been posting, you've got many other problems closer to home that need your attention. Conspiracy theories and "what ifs" are the least of your worries.

Trust me, they have my attention. I have a job interview sometime next week. Along with the other 5,000 interviews I have been on for the past 3 and a half months. Waiting for a confirmation email back.

First world problems. As long as you remember that there are five billion people in worse situations elsewhere, you should have every confidence in the world of overcoming the speed bumps that are in front of you now.

I understood your post just fine. Did you understand mine? In the immediate aftermath of a tragedy, nobody, including the purported experts on TV, seems to have a fucking clue. You don't know if the Obama government received some kind of warning about this. Why is it so unreasonable to think that our massive intelligence dragnet, which sifts thru all electronic communications, may have been given some sort of sign of this occurring? Best to shut the fuck up until the smoke clears. Or in your dim sum dum fuk case, just plain shut the fuck up - period. Innocent victims had their lives stolen and their limbs blown off and you're rushing to defend some multimillionaire politician's ass. Sickening.

Obviously you didn't understand or you would have then quoted the person who brought up BO's name in the first place, which was not me. I was simply responding to what was said about BO in regards to the bombing.

Amazing how I'm reading that there are people out there attempting to make a profit selling Boston Marathon paraphernalia on ebay and craigs now. Scavenger mentality if you ask me. People Magazine and the likes will do the exact same thing by putting the victims faces on the front cover. Whatever it takes to raise the profit.

Damn Don... a little harsh don't you think? Why the personal attack on her? Just because you may not agree with her thoughts, there's no need for slinging hurtful insults at her.

I don't think it harsh at all. She's been open about her personal life on this website for a long time. From suspecting her room mate in the death of her cat, problems with her boss, losing her job, dealing with EDD, seeing her neighbor naked, looking for a relationship online and the Illuminati. If she doesn't mind treating the place like Dear Abby, I'm sure she expects and can handle our opinions (and she did address that after my post).

Maybe that person was not in a mental state to be able to handlle such words. Maybe she couldn't afford the additional emotional distress that day. Sometimes people just hang it out there because they are in pain or need a friend. Never be so assuming that you take someone elses needs for granted and be harsh to them, just because that person's life is not what you are currently feeling. Can we have a little compassion here? Some us have been in some shit, for so long, that we have become numb. Jim, as you know this place, I'm not gonna judge Don, but you know, the world needs a bit more kindness.
