New SP Song on Grown Ups 2 trailer? *Update* Not SP.

Postby cinkidd » Tue May 14, 2013 11:46 pm

The trailer for the Adam Sandler movie "Grown Ups 2" has a song at the one minute mark that has a singer that sounds very much like Steve Perry. I think the song title is "Since You've Been Gone".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neBR6ofHkiY

Anybody have any idea who it is singing and the name of the song? Is it a new SP song?

Not trying to get anybodies hopes up.

Not all songs make all sound tracks and some songs that were not in the movie actually do. I also listened to all the songs on there that I could find and unless it was one of the ones that I could not find the song that I'm referring to is not among those listed.

That's "Since You Been Gone" as covered by Rainbow. I bought that album when it came out in 1979.

Thanks Lora. The chorus has the SP tonality to it and in the brief bit you hear in the trailer, I guess I was wanting to hear Perry. DAMN!

I actually didn't know that the song was written by Russ Ballard, so that was interesting. It was a pretty big hit for Rainbow back in the day.

Yeah, that song NEVER EVER sounded like Steve. Wow what a stretch to think it does.

I have always loved the song but didn't realize or remember it was not Joe Lynn Turner singing it.

I remember it and "All Night Long" getting a lot of airplay on MTV when the station was still filling up its video library.
