The first two movies I remember seeing as a child were "E.T." and "Ghostbusters". Both movies had lines going around the corner of the theater. I remember waiting a LONG time! My other memory of that time was that I had just received a terrible report card the day my Dad took me to Ghostbusters. I knew after the movie, all hell was going to break loose. And it did! Not a good time afterwards!! I remember being so fascinated by the movie though, and remember being a little freaked out by Slimer and the two gargoyles. Lol!!

Growing up, I watched most movies at the Drive-In.
The first movie I remember seeing inside a movie theater was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. That must have been around 1972.
Battle for the Planet of the Apes was the next one I remember. As I got older, there was The Amityville Horror, Octopussy and Moonraker.
Once I went overseas, then I hit the theater quite a bit more.
Temple Of Doom
Breakfast Club
Weird Science
Predator
Ghostbusters
Aliens
Lethal Weapon
Dead Calm
Batman

holy crap, was the OP posting from the hill country? or maybe Antarctica?
I don't consider myself as a frequent movie goer, but I have seen 1000+ movies in an actual theater.
Its a twentieth century invention that i guess is long to catch on.
To list them all would be very silly.

'Xactly. I mean, I even saw 70s flicks as a kid at the drive-in, like (yes, the original) Star Wars (fuck that "Episode IV" bullshit), which was a double feature with (wait for it) Laserblast, King Kong (remake with Jeff Bridges), and other gems like Star Crash, Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger, The Warriors, Hardcore ("I got a dick nine inches long!"), Dirt, An American Werewolf In London, and even '80s flicks Q: The Winged Serpent (bad David Carradine flick with a stop-motion monster in eating people in Manhattan), Swamp Thing and Death Wish 2.

Those are all movies I saw at a bona fide American phenomenon called a drive-in. I'm not even going to try and list all the movies I've seen inside a theater.
