Frankly I'd vote for him because the 2 party system they have going on right now is broke. It really can't get much worse. It doesn't matter what is best for the USA because if one guy has a good idea the other party shits all over it because they didnt think of it and the American people suffer for it. These crooks...I mean politicians are in office first and foremost to get money for the people who gave them money to run for the office that they're elected for and that is complete bullshit.

This is what happens when you elect the rich upper crust to govern for the middle class.

Wasn't he part of the UDT which later became part of or renamed Navy Seals?

UDTs were redesignated as SDVTs (SEAL Delivery Vehicle Teams) in the 80s.
UDTs and SEALs went through the same basic training and back then UDTs could easily request to be transferred to Seal teams during Vietnam because of the high attrition rate but Ventura never did that.
It would be like a modern day Seal saying he was in the Scouts & Raiders. It doesn't fly.

I heard that he himself has never said that he was a Seal. However, when people refer to him as being one he doesn't correct it. I don't think he has ever fudged what he actually did in the armed forces though.

"We're a proud organization. If anyone tries to pretend they're a SEAL, God help them. You have to earn the right to be a SEAL warrior." (p. 81)
The sad thing is, for kids like me growing up in the early 70s, Frogmen (UMTs) were the coolest dudes around. Watching shows like "Sea Hunt" it was a glamorous thing to hope to one day be a frogman. It's a shame Jesse didn't embrace that title. I don't think SEALS were really on anyone's radar until the 1990 movie; then, everyone all of sudden became aware of them.

The world is already laughing at us without having this guy run for prez.

What?? You must have not gotten the tweet that rest of the world loves us now that the Messiah is President of the United States. Soon to be referred to as the U.S.S.A.

Personally, I would like to see the 22nd amendment repealed and watch Obama kick your sorry asses every four years until the sun burns out.

Now I understand how Obama got elected.

Because the GOP hasn't be a serious political party in ages. Everyone from Bush Sr to Bob Dole says the party needs to undergo a major soul search and ideological re-alignment. Both Nixon and Reagan would be Democrats today. The GOP is a fund-raising racket and de-facto advertising arm of Fox News and AM radio. That is all.

It must be, as federal spending under Obama has been the slowest its been since the Korean War (link below).
Just say Nigger, steveo777. Do it! It's ok. Andrew won't ban you. You're already more than half way there and you'll feel alot better afterwards too. I promise.

Every major economic turnaround in the past 60 years has been overseen by Democrats. Even Reagan couldn't have defeated stagflation without the Carter-appointed Volcker (who the GOP despises). Is it any wonder that the Right has to reach all the way back to Calvin Coolidge to hold up as some sort of mythical economic savior? You have no relevant policies and nothing to offer this country except endless debates on fetuses, queers, and queer fetuses who you think should be aborted.

Nigger, nigger, nigger!

I'd take soft corporate fascism that slightly helps the common man over whatever slice of Orwellian jackboot nightmare hell Bush and Cheney were offering, and that the GOP continues to offer.

Personally, I consider myself an American who believes in our constitution and the bill of rights. I believe that our government needs to adhere to our constitution and not infringe on our rights. I don't believe in a government that tries to circumvent the constitution or a government official that feels he\she is "constrained" by the constitutional system our founding fathers put in place. I believe we do not need a government that tells us what health insurance we need to buy, what size soft drink we should be allowed to consume, what ingredients our school cafeterias use in the food they serve, how many bullets we can load into our firearms, a government that does not take seriously the protection of our borders and is willing to give blanket amnesty to those that have violated our immigration process and to top it all off, grant chain link amnesty to family members of illegals that are not even in the country and a government that is unwilling to state who our enemies are because they are afraid of hurting someones feelings.
The_Noble_Cause wrote:All I can say is, your political understanding is obviously very limited and child-like. The country has never operated in this black and white fashion, and never will. If you want to be a constitutional free-market purist, why don't you lead by example and get the hell of this website, which is owned and run by a proud socialist Aussie.
Boomchild wrote:It will never be perfect,I never said it would be. But that doesn't mean that someone shouldn't question or speak out on what they feel the government is overreaching and violating ones freedom and liberty. If it is childlike to not want a government to tell me things like how much soda to drink, how many bullets to load in my gun, enforce our immigration laws instead of telling those that are charged with enforcing them not to do so unless they (illegals) have committed three crimes, then I guess I'm childlike.
Boomchild wrote:As far as posting on a site owned by a proud Aussie socialist (as you put it), I could careless what his political views are. He has a right to them just as much as I have mine. Just like the current administration is doing you are telling me what I should do. Your comment is just as ignorant and childlike as those that say "if you don't like what is going on in this country then get out".

This is the fattest and dumbest nation in the world.
The_Noble_Cause wrote:By the way, the government SHOULD regulate how much soda people can drink, especially when a growing number are obese and stuck with jobs that don't provide benefits. So why should I, as a taxpayer, be paying for people's diabetes amputations and stent procedures? This is the fattest and dumbest nation in the world.
