What the hell is Peterik thinking? Seriously, who wants to hear the guy who played the song on keyboards play it on guitar and sing it. He looks like a bozo wearing those clothes too. Now the whole legacy of Survivor has been ruined by thoses who don't know better. People are going to hear, Survivor is playing a concert in their city but the singer sucks I am not going.

Jim it is great that you wrote the song, it does not give you the right to go on tv and trash it. You want to play it so bad work out your problems with Frankie. Now trash tv has taken it and made a joke of it.

The whole thing strikes me as a mid-life crisis. Peterik's got the money, but not the fame that goes along with it. Too long sitting in the background while others got the spotlight and attention. It comes across as a gigantic ego trip of him jumping around going "this is me, I wrote this". Basically, it's same thing with Pride of Lions.

Obviously, he can do whatever he wants to, and has every right to do so, but it's probably one of (if not the) reason why you'll never see a true Survivor reunion. Jim Peterik wants to be in the spotlight, and sitting back playing keyboards isn't going to give him that.

I doubt it hurts Survivor at all. #1 it IS publicity. #2, I don't think there's much name recognition for Survivor these days, at least outside of the Chicago/midwest area.

I have the great pleasure of knowing Jim very well. Over a lot of years now.

You guys are taking it way more seriously then he is...he's just having fun. Doing whatever he wants, stress free and with a smile always.

Not many can assert to being in such a position in life, so why not let him enjoy it.

He's one of the most genuine guys I have met in this asshole infected business :)

I feel for ya Andrew. One day it would be great if you wrote a book, would love to hear some of these a-hole stories.

One thing I have found, unfortunately many of these artists could not careless if you bought every single thing they have put out. They don't care how big a fan you may be. More often than not I have been disappointed when I finally get to meet some of these people I have always looked up to. I really wish I could take back 90% of my face to face experiences.

If/when Andrew writes the 'book' I will be a first day buyer!

What's wrong with Jim? Nothing. He gets it in 2013. It would be great to have a guy like him do a Storytellers type show around the Chicagoland area.

Well there was one keyboardist whose work I admired, Jordan Rudess from Dream Theater. I ran into him at CES a couple of years ago where he had a small space setup to demo some iOS software for his venture Wizdom Music. I knew he was a good keyboardist just from the albums I've listened to, but I was totally floored when he started blazing away on the iPad on some impromptu jam. I was able to speak with him briefly and he struck me was a very pleasant guy, very down to earth. Definitely had positive memories from that experience.
