Ben Affleck as Batman is a joke. I guess just because he made Argo everyone forgets that this is the same guy who hasn't really had a good string of success in the movie business since the late 90's. Just a terrible choice. He sucked as Daredevil, how the hell is he going to be Batman?

Personally I feel that Bale was the best Batman that they franchise has had and that Keaton was the best Bruce Wayne. Who knows, maybe Affleck will surprise me...I'm not just not expecting him to.

REPORT: Snyder approached Affleck MONTHS ago.

"Affleck and filmmaker Zack Snyder will create an entirely new incarnation of the character in Snyder’s as-yet-untitled project—bringing Batman and Superman together for the first time on the big screen and continuing the director’s vision of their universe, which he established in 'Man of Steel.'"

Warners is banking that Snyder's rebooted original story “Man of Steel,” which has earned more than $650 million worldwide to date, is the right way to go. But now he and writer David S. Goyer will bring the two DC Comics icons together in a story they created together, in effect importing Batman into Superman's world.

That passage says a lot. Seems like the team had Superman/Batman in the cards early. I believe it may have been the plan all along. Cavill was talking about the "potential" of a Superman/Batman team-up in May. As a Supes fan, that's great to hear especially in the bolded parts.. 8)

I just ran across an old article in USA Today from 2002 where Colin Farrell says he's supposed to "be Batman in [the long-in-development] Batman Vs. Superman"!

The funny part? The article's actually about Ben Affleck!

I'll be getting 2 on release day! 4 extra hours of bonus footage/special edition. What I would do to see Cavill audition his screen test in Reeve's suite..

As neat as it is that Cranston may be playing Lex (all but officially confirmed at this point), I think it'd be even better if he was cast as the new Jim Gordon.

He would make one helluva Gordon, no question, but Oldman already owned that part and was a HUGE part in TDKT. I think Cranston's abilities as an actor should go further than just a detective or Commissioner for the GCPD. Let the guy out of the bag and be sinister. Dude is amazing on Breaking Bad.

But, the key here, is that Comicbooknews has reported it and all of these news sites seem to be quoting them, which is a no-no. That site is wrong almost 100% of the time, but, we'll see. Wherever there's smoke, there's fire and rumor has it, if Cranston WAS already cast, it will be officially announced by WB after Breaking Bad, where the season ends in September.

William H.Macy would be my choice to play Gordon. I feel he's as solid as solid gets for the role:

Man of Steel passed the $290 million domestic mark (a nice, round number) with its release in Japan still to come August 30th.

At Superman homepage they posted some awesome info. Looks like a pretty substantial re release is happening starting this Friday through the following Thursday. It doesn't look like its going "wide" but from the following link it should provide a pretty good bump:

http://www.regmovies.com/Promotions/AmericasFavoriteRPX

On the cool side, it is being brought back by popular demand which is awesome. This could provide a pretty substantial bump to the final box office.

Jim Gordon is not "just" a detective or Commissioner, though. He's an integral component of the Batman mythos. I have a feeling people will heavily liken his Lex (who should not be that old) to Walter White sans any redeeming qualities.

Macy is a fine actor, don't get me wrong, but he comes across as too "nice." He doesn't have the same air of authority about him as Oldman or Cranston.

No doubt he's an integral part of the Batman mythos, so is Alfred but you can't cast every single Bat-character in this movie when Superman has his cast and listings already returning, even Lex being rumored to be the villain. Though Gordon is big, I don't see him NEEDED to be cast in Superman/Batman. Save his involvement for a Bat-solo film.

I don't expect to see him on film for a few. I just think B.C. would make a great C.G. :)

Christian Bale's audition for Batman Begins surfaces. He's using Val Kilmer's Bat-suite from Batman Forever. Eventually, I'd love to see Cavill's screen-test for Man of Steel in Reeve's suite as well:

It's happening. The DCU is being written and we're going to have our first television meets cinema collision course. Arrow/Flash. Gotham? In Superman/Batman, the Bat is "old; wise. Battle-beaten." Gotham is an origin, a prequel. This is the world Bruce will come from. I do find it a little hard to believe they'd be setting up one shared universe (Superman/Batman), another shared universe elsewhere (Arrow/Flash) and then just have this thing hanging out there randomly.

Come on now, this is ALL going to build up to Supes/Bats 2015 and explode from there.

In one of the biggest drama deals this season, after a bidding war, Fox has landed Gotham, from Warner Bros. TV and The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller, with a series commitment. For Gotham, Warner Bros TV is mining one of DC Comics‘ most popular character universes, Batman. It explores the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains that made Gotham famous. In Gotham, Gordon is still a detective at the Gotham City Police Department and is yet to meet Batman who will not be part of the series. The Gordon character was introduced in 1939 in the very first Batman comic. Created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, Commissioner Gordon has appeared in comic books as well as Batman films and series, including in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy where it was played by Gary Oldman. Along with the Superman franchise, the Batman universe is probably the most prized DC property. While Superman spawned the long-running series Smallville, this is the first series featuring a character from the world of Batman in a very long time. It is the second high-profile WBTV/DC drama in the works for next season, along with Flash at the CW. In addition to Gotham, WME-repped Heller has Mars drama Red at the CW. Gotham joins CBS’ sci-fi drama Extant as the two highest-profile drama projects this season, sparking bidding wars and landing series commitment and series order, respectively.

I'm not sure how true it is, but somebody at CBR said there was a bidding war over this show, which is why it's on Fox and not CW. Either way, I'm interested in anything related to the Batmythos.

Yeah, a few of his characters have two left feet.

So what do you think of Wahlberg as Tony Stark?

So watched Iron Man 3 last night. Disappointed cannot cover how bad it sucked. I don't really know (a really don't care) who directs a movie, but for GODS sake KNOW what the audience likes and wants. Panic attacks, really? Can't sleep? Fucking kidding me. Has 50 Iron Man suits hanging in his closet and when he fortress gets attacked by Heli's, he can't summon them with a flick of his eyeball? (Seems to be able to do anything else tech). The one suit he does have isn't functional? I don't think in the whole 2 hours I watched this he was in his suit more than 10 minutes. As a matter of fact, his drones (50 different varieties and they all do the same thing, really?) do ALL the fighting. Then the bad guy was just a pawn? Holy fuck me silly! BY that time I had to fire up a pocket rocket of my own just to wrap my head around this pile of shit. When I see a super-hero movie I want to see ass-kicking, name taking, teeth rattling, bone-jarring action to the max, you know, senseless entertainment. I don't want to see the personal side of Tony Starke and his fucking anxiety attacks and night sweats!
