SteveW2...

Where are you??? Hope all is well with you. Man, this place is an absolute GRAVEYARD!! I sure miss the people that used to post in here. Just sitting here thinking about it tonight, and just wondering how you're all doing? Most of the regular posters from the past are gone. If you haven't posted in a long time... get your butt in here and say hello! Liquid Drummer, Carla, MG, BJG, Rhiannon, Angel, etc...

Do I need to start a "Where Are They Now"?

I wish I could hang out on here tonight. Worked a 12 hour day today, played through 2-16 song sets getting ready for my next show on Labor Day, and now must hit the hay. Early day tomorrow! :x :( Hope you have a great night.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing earlier, G.I. Kind of fuckin' depressing. :o Can't believe how many names we've lost over the last few years. Use to be magic in here.

I wondered where he is too, but didn't have the same size balls as you to post the question. At another forum it was considered weak and insecure to wonder where people were. I wish the basterd would show up!

I've seen some Angel post on some threads recently, so she's around. Michigangirl post some, haven't seen Lynn in a while or Beshad in like forever. Everyone has real lives, you get busy, distracted by others, find something new and just move on sometimes. I know I have been through some things just recently that really have rocked my world and you realize how fragile life can be sometimes. Sometimes you can't seem to wrap your head around it and all that goes thru your mind is "why"? Can something be so, so bad that you just don't want to go on? I've never understood that and I don't think I ever will. And being a dad myself, I feel so sorry for the kids of both families. One of my frat brothers from college took his life 2 days ago. I reached out to him, left several messages, but he never returned my call. I don't think I'll ever now the real story, maybe I will, who knows. He was a really great guy, 2 kids, 11 & 9, and had everything going for him or so I thought. Just stops you in your tracks. Another friend from high school who died from stage 4 stomach cancer 2 weeks ago was another great man. Rose up from virtually nothing (like all of us), became a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force with 3 beautiful kids left behind. Buried with full military honors last week in colorado springs. RIP "Cheese", you sir, were impeccable in the way you lived your life.

You're right about people getting busy with life. I'm busier now than I think I've ever been! CRAZY schedule. Very sorry to hear about all of your friends. One of the saddest parts in life is saying goodbye. Many times, I've never had the chance to tell people how special they are to me before they pass. That's why I've changed my life for the last 20 years or so. I tell my family I love them every time I speak to them. And while I don't tell my friends how much I love them, I let them know how much I appreciate them being a friend. I'm fortunate to have the great friends I do!

Anyway, hang in there, and let people you care about know how you feel.

I seriously thought this was going to be bad news about Stevie …so “Thank GOD” it’s not (Yes indeedy, I did give thanks to
G-O-D, so, perhaps someone would like to debate that, yet again, which would actually be HUGE fun) It’s not a matter of no longer “having” time because I never really “had” time, I just “made” time. I’d be cooking and clicking, watching TV and clicking, on the phone and clicking, at work and clicking and sometimes just being lazy and clicking. This place made me lmao and it was just F-U-N. It’s the people who made it fun and my list is waaaaay longer than yours. Did you seriously list all women …and Stevie?
And hey, I commented in your TOTO thread just the other day.

Yeah, I just listed a few because I only had a minute when I posted it. Just wanted to say I miss the old gang. I spent WAY to many hours here debating, sharing music stories, etc... Sure miss those days. :(

And no... I also listed Liquid Drummer, so Steve wasn't the only one! :D

Sadly, a large piece of this place died with Deano. It hasn't been the same since. I miss him!

I was joking about your list, I knew where you were going with it, and I concur.

Yes, Deano’s absence is huge, he was a huge personality with huge opinions, thoughts
and ideas and his name was synonymous w/MR ...and probably some other places
that I’m not aware of. BUT, even Deano needed other personalities to make the wheels
spin, understand? It’s just life. People are irreplaceable in the hearts and lives of those
who love them and Deano is irreplaceable here. But, life must go on …which is easier said
than done, as some lives have been affected more than others.
I think it’s sad that this place is so desolate that even Deano’s memory isn’t being kept alive.
But it’s also sad that many other folks are missed, as well. Not just “friends” ~ “foes” also.
It takes various personalities AND opinions to make this place interesting …as in life.

Obviously, these are just my thoughts/feelings …doesn’t mean they’re politically correct. It also
doesn’t mean that folks haven’t moved on, like NS said. I just know that visiting here never affected
“my” personal life.

I've been off-board for a while, with real life shit taking me away from the keyboard. Still stopped by every week or so to skim read, but there wasn't much that was jumping out and grabbing me to get yapping. Oddly enough, all the stuff that kept me off the computer also resulted in me not listening to music much. This morning I fixed a few speaker problems, threw on some Thunder and thought "I wonder what's going on in MR land?" Got on-line - six different music related links in my emails. Fate, obviously, tapping me on the shoulder.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

No I don't. That was a friendly jab to get your attention. Missed ya, is all. If you really hate me, well, that would make me sad.
