In the end, I believe we had about, 6 guys that consistently picked and went down to the very end. Now, we only have 4. John's still not signed up or rejoined. Not sure what's goin on there.

Yeah, I'm back on board. I've been busy with life things. ESPN was previewing tonight's game and I thought 'Schit! I gotta rejoin Pick'ems!' So it's done.

I wanted to join the Fantasy league as well, but the draft was scheduled right on a late-closing shift out at 11PM / early opening shift at 7AM combo weekend. I'm bummed, but oh well.

Though they beat my team in the Super Bowl, I had no ill-will towards the Ravens. I do despise Ray Lewis, but most people do. But no issues at all with the Ravens over all. Much respect. Until yesterday. I was watching a recap of the superbowl on the NFL channel. I've avoided any such stuff since the loss because it was too difficult to watch. But I decided I would watch it. So towards the end, I see Flacco telling everyone on the sideline that if one of the Niners breaks free, they should come off the sideline and tackle him, essentially accepting whatever penalty they get in lieu of a super bowl loss. He was dead serious. His teammates were looking at him like he was nuts. So fuck Flacco. I guess my ill-will is toward him now, not the team. I hope he breaks his leg on the first play.

I think the penalty for that is a TD awarded to the offense. So wouldn't have helped anyway. Bastard.

I see Baltimore has caused a weather delay to try and set the momentum of the game. I mean, that sounds intelligent, right?

Memorex wrote:I'm not sure if the power outage had an affect, so I do not accept it as fact. I can list hundreds of NFL games where a team came back in the second half and where, in fact, the lights did not go out. Remember, I'm a Niners fan and Joe Montana defined comeback. I used to watch them be down by a couple touchdowns and would not worry.

But the larger point is that whatever affect it had, or any other factor had, it was equal-opportunity. I don't think there is a rule that says if the lights go out, the team with the fewest points stands to gain the most.

This is a team that is one of the best in the league, playing in the biggest game of the year, with some of the greatest talent in the NFL. Getting their shit together and playing at their level is expected, not shocking because the lights went out. Blaming it on lights takes away from the accomplishment of their second-half play.

Last thing I'll say on the matter. I think we learned tonight that a game really can turn without the need for a power outage.

One game, and the Super Bowl champs were sent into a bees nest with a team and a fan base bent on revenge.

Ravens were ok in the first half.

I'll trade this for last years playoff game a zillion times over!

Don't forget the Broncos and the Texans destroyed the Super Bowl Champs last year regular season.

The Ravens are building for the long haul and bringing back the same roster wouldn't have worked. They will gel at some point and play well. It's all about year to year and one game is not fun for me to watch but no big deal.

One game that turned on momentum. (Worst game Harbaugh has ever coached) Ravens had the 1st half

The Broncos and Texans destroyed the Ravens in the regular season last year.

Wasn't fun to watch in the second half but surprised how stupid and reactionary some can be over one game.

See ya in 15 more weeks!

Too early. I do not buy into Cincy.

Balt and Pitt will still compete for the division. Watch.

One game. And one the defending champs had to play on the road with a new configuration against a pissed off team and fanbase = which was bullshit on the NFL.

The lack of leadership and weaponry showed for Baltimore, ones that could not be fixed. True, it's only one game and they'll probably bounce back sooner or later, but you can't be happy with a receiving core that looks like they're running in mud, an offensive line that was getting pushed around by a lack of pass-rush and a defense that looked virtually clueless in every position.

Still baffles me how Ray Rice doesn't see more touch's. Flacco throwing for over 50+ pass's is a sure LOSS written all over it, especially without Boldin bailin' out his jumpballs.

And YOUR team bro>

We shall see. Difference is, the Steelers have most of their leadership healthy and intact. Guys like Roethlisberger, Pouncey, Timmons, Woodley, Clark, Keisel, Polamalu and Ike Taylor all healthy mixed in with young guys that are athletic as shit. Balty pretty much lost every piece to the puzzle that gelled their entire run together a season ago and the young guys like Jimmy Smith will have to learn how to step it up.

That's a lesson learned from trying to keep the 2000 team together and failing. Ozzie is in it for the long haul. Do you really think keeping Ed Reed and begging Ray Lewis to come back would have been a good idea?

Yes the receiving corps is a problem. No one expected Pitta to get hurt but so many people over value Boldin who did nothing at all in the regular season and is old.

We'll see. It's fun though isn't it? :D

Yeah, but the Ravens practically got rid of all their backups that were supposed to step in immediately after top departures. Ozzie rolled the dice and if anything, was backed into the corner with Flacco's big contract. Dummerville was a nice pickup, though. With the Steelers, most of their young guys have been sitting and are ready to step in like Steve McClendon, Cam Heyward and Cortez Allen. The Steelers o-line will be tough, but their depth is HIGHLY concerning. If we lose one of those guys, we're fuckin' DOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED.

Glad footballs back 8) It's defiantly a blast. 8)

What amazes me is how the Ravens didn't bust Manning under the chin at least ONCE! And it wouldn't matter if he already threw the ball, bust his ass. It's like in baseball if a guy has already hit back to back home runs and comes up a third time with 2 on, are you going to pitch to his ass? Fuck no your not. I'd be damn as a coach if I'm going to let one player beat me, that was ridiculous.

The Ravens lost a lot of good players on defense even though Ed Reed was getting older he is still one of the best.Ray Lewis was a very hard hitter not to mention he intimidated the opposing offense.Bernard Pollard was one of those guys had he been there would've been the main guy to go pop Mannning under the chin one real good time and not give a damn about being penalized or fined. Also throw in there Paul Kruger and Dannell Ellerbe, Cary Williams and Ma’ake Kemoeatu and thats a lot of losses just on defense. On offense they lost C Matt Birk to retirement WR Anquan Boldin in free agency then TE Dennis Pitta got hurt and will be out awhile. Then you have WR Jacoby Jones who might be out at least a month after getting injured in the Denver game.

Also It's a long season and we will see teams go 3-0 or 4-0 and there will be some that fade away down the stretch and some that will be in it for the long haul.On the same token there will be a few teams dig themselves early holes going 0-2 or 0-3 but have plenty of time to climb out of the basement and get on track. Some teams have brutal schedules starting out that ease up along the way. This year the Tennessee Titans start out with two games on the road and also play three straight road games in the middle of the season and the last team that had that type of schedule was the 2008 Chicago Bears. Also i'm very interested in seeing how these read option QB's like Kaepernick,RGIII and Russell Wilson will fare throughout the long haul and keep from being hit too hard or injured. The NFL is saying the rules clearly state that read-option quarterbacks can be hit like runners, even if they don’t have the ball. If a quarterback who handed off or pitched the ball is still carrying out a fake in a running posture, he can be tackled the same way he would be if he still had the ball.He is still treated as a runner until he is clearly out of the play.Officials will have a tough job determining where the line is drawn between playing tough, physical defense on read-option quarterbacks, and unnecessarily contacting a quarterback who doesn’t have the ball anymore.

There are a lot of good games tomorrow and there are certain ones i'm having a very hard time figuring out just who will prevail in the end.Two of the toughest games for me to figure out right now are San Francisco vs. Green Bay and the Cincinnati vs. Chicago game. Both Chicago and Cincinnati have really good defenses and i would also say Andy Dalton and Jay Cutler are very similar statistically as well. The wild card here is A.J. Green who could be the difference maker with his talent on the Bengals offense.

Well...you'll get regional TV. Just like me. You probably won't get KC, when I will for example. Still doesn't make sense the games they pick?

You WILL get the Cowboys tomorrow, though.
