Just got through watching the entire Tennessee-Pittsburgh game and i must say Tennessee is definitely a different team than last year with all the problems they battled. The Tennessee defense looking a lot better as well.Still a long year though so anything is possible. Both teams had some players get banged up.We go to Houston next week while Pittsburgh goes to Cincinnati.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey left Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans with a right knee injury and will not return.

Pouncey has been taken to a hospital for an MRI after being carted off the field.

Pouncey suffered the injury on the Steelers' first possession of the game after David DeCastro rolled onto his lower right leg on a running play. Pouncey stayed down on the ground as a hush fell over the crowd at Heinz Field.

The loss of Pouncey left the Steelers with one extra offensive linemen for the rest of the game.

The Steelers dressed just seven offensive linemen due to the versatility of Kelvin Beachum, a second-year offensive tackle who has taken over at center.

Beat me to it, FF. Steelers are already without half their football team with one game in, lol. Going to be a FUGLY year. Not so sure 8 days can fix our problems that are way too many to name at this point.

Was the play where Decastro rolled onto Pouncey's right leg a fault of Decastro or was Decastro running the play as he was told because i've read in two different places where it wasn't Decastro's fault he was just running the play the way he was taught and he was caught in a bad spot?

I had no idea what happened at first since I was there, but to my understanding, DeCastro literally just kamikaze'd right into Pouncey's leg for no reason. If I had to guess, it was a zone-blocking play and within' those rules, you attack a certain area, not necc a body so I would think DeCastro was going to help Pouncey downblock and went to chop a certain area and unfortunately, as dumb as it sounds, he jackknifed right into Pouncey's knee. Such has been the luck since 2011.

Seriously Travis? You're already making excuses after one game? Sorry dude, but I told you last year that the Steelers weren't that good (and they're not). I've been telling you forever that Ben isn't "that guy". Ben is a better than average NFL QB. That said, he's not Peyton Manning, he's not Aaron Rodgers, he's not Drew Brees, he's not Tom Brady. Hell, he's not even Colin Kaepernick! Those Steelers teams ALWAYS won on defense, and their defense hasn't been exceptional in quite some time. I'm calling it here now...the Steelers won't make the playoffs.

The Niner game was pretty close to what I thought it would be. Niners still sloppy with the penalties. Drives me mad. It's like they want to add 100 yards to challenge. Gave the ticker a good workout with this game. Now on to Seattle. I thought Seattle would have looked better today. Carolina could be pretty good.

It's no excuse John. At all. In fact, tell me where I said the loss of Pouncey and literally every other tirade of other injuries and the absence of key players was the reason why we lost this game today. It's simple. The Steelers are a bad football team regardless right now and there's basically nothing that could change that. They deserved to lose today and deserve the words that will come their way after that performance.

The Steelers loss's via injury to their already injured football team is huge. How do you say that without making it NOT sound like an excuse? My team just lost another handful of players for the year that would of given us the best chance to win for this football season. Forgive me for being concerned.

As for Ben, you can keep saying what you're going to keep saying about Ben and I'll continue to answer you with the same answer so you can beat it into the ground all you want. I wouldn't trade him for Manning, Brady, Rodgers or Colin Kaepernick. You can think of him as you may. He's our QB and we'll be going back to war with him in 8 days.

It was a good game... the concern for me is that clearly GB has closed the gap defensively... and just showed every other team how to defense the 9ers on the 1st game of the season..

Hours after Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he expects center Maurkice Pouncey and linebacker Larry Foote to miss the rest of the season with injuries suffered in today’s loss to Tennessee comes news that running back LaRod Stephens-Howling has also been lost for the season.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that Stephens-Howling suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the year.

The Steelers were hoping Stephens-Howling would be both their primary kickoff returner and a key part of their offense, and he was their leading rusher today against the Titans. But they won’t get any more out of him this year.

Terrell Pryor looked pretty good today. He did make a couple of boneheaded plays that should be expected with only making his 2nd start. But he made some very big throws in big situations too.

My Raiders won't win many games this year, but can only hope the young guys will play well. The Raiders are gonna have another high pick next year, and I'm gonna predict right now that John Gruden will come back as coach next year.

The young guys, the picks, and having the most salary cap room of any team in the NFL next year will be enough for him to come back.

My hope is that when they have their receivers back, they will be all that much better. But yea - it won't take long for teams to figure out Kap. He will have to settle in some.

Watched the 49er, fudgepacker game yesterday and have some observations. Did anyone else besides little ole me see Clay Matthews leap upon and take down C.K. like he was coming off the top rope like superfly fucking snuka? And what got me was that no penalty flag was thrown! If that would have been Brady or Manning, or Brees or hell even Cali boy Rodgers, Goodell would have thrown 10 flags from his commissioners chair, taken his private lear jet straight to San Fran and fired every Official on the spot! My second observation=Kaepernick IS the most dangerous QB in the game today. I mean, how do you prepare for this guy? He can run like a freaking Gazelle, has a rocket launcher attached to his shoulder and is tough as rhino liner. San Fran is the most complete team in the league and with that dude at the helm, there is no doubt in my mind they are the team to beat.

There were two flags on the play. One on Mathews and one on Staley for retaliation. They were called offsetting and they replayed the down, where SF scored a TD.

Later, the NFL said the offsetting penalties should have burned the down, which could have meant the Niners going for 3 instead of a TD.

And then today, the NFL said there should have been no flag on Staley, meaning it would not have been offsetting, but a first and goal for the Niners.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000241366/article/joe-staley-shouldnt-have-been-penalized-nfl-says

Matthews is a great player. But just like the other 105 players in the stadium, everyone has to play by the same rules - like em or not. He did what he did and should have been penalized. If it was any worse, he should be fined. And then you play on. That's football. Winning was the best revenge. :) Kap having a career passing day against a team that he already has his career rushing day on is more sweet revenge to top it off.

Seems like every time I watch the San Diego Chargers, they come out of the gates hot, look like world-beaters and somehow blow huge leads. That team is one of the best teams in the business that only knows how to beat themselves. Stupid penalties left and right. Rivers pick-6 and dropped pass's. 24 unanswered points from the Texans to seal the win, 31-28.

What, that 2-spot that Jacksonville put on the board the other day doesn't inspire that confidence in their ability to bring home the big eagle?
