Bare Bones Tour - Long Beach, CA

Saw Bryan Adams last night at a small 3100 seater last night here in SoCal.

For starters, what a room to play! The sound of this place is incredible!

Ah, Dean would've been proud of this show! While similar to the show a year ago at UCLA's Royce Hall, the show was Bryan on acoustic guitar and harmonica, with Gary Bright from his band on piano on about 60% of the songs.

In two hours, BA covered many of his hits and quite a few newer/obscure songs through a pre-set setlist. He did, however, take three requests from the crowd, two of which ("Kids Wanna Rock" and "In The Heat Of The Night") were not in his standard set.

At 53, it was pretty incredible to hear how he nails his vocals, and, I never realized just how well he plays guitar. He's no wiz like Satch, Neal, or others, but, he really holds his own in playing his music.

BA told many stories about his music, including "how effin cool is it that Kenny Rogers recorded one of my songs for his new album? Kenny effin Rogers!"

Overall, the show was solid yet basic. I wonder if other artists would chance going so "bare"... Also, pretty scary on how many songs he didn't play/how much longer he could play!
