Oh yeah I was trying to remember who David Victor was and then it dawned on me that I remember reading something about him joining Boston a few years ago. I would say that he's actually a much better singer than Home Depot boy. Don't know why Scholz didn't just go with him, but I suppose he's trying to go for "brand" as opposed to "band".

Even the die hards on the Boston forum are beginning to slam this song . It's really bad when the hardcore fans hate it too ! ( I'm one of them .)

It doesn't sound like classic "BOSTON". More like other MR efforts that are out there. Reminds me a little of Two Fires, Kevin Chalfant's project (which I like).

Sounded pretty disjointed, and can't find a groove or rhythm. Kind of like walking two dogs who are trying to walk two different directions looking to take a shit.

except the GC song has some real energy... the Boston song (Someday) sounds like a wet noodle..

Scholz need to invest in some real drums.. I can't believe those are analog... they sound like 16 bit drum machine sounds..

I just listened to samples of the songs on Boston's web page... the best songs are the retreads from Corporate America and that's really sad. I won't be buying this one. I for one am sick of the "claps" that Scholtz seems to always put in a lot of the songs, and the computerized drums...

the songs sound watered down version of the worst songs on CA and Walk ON.
and why does every song have the same guitar riff?

Nothing comes close to the harder edged boston that I remember.

OMG I just heard the "Heaven on Earth" track from the home page. AWFUL! Is that a drum machine? It sounds like the one my kids used on Playstation Rock Band. Embarrassing.

Wow that song on the front page is indeed awful. Hey Tom, next time you decide to waste your time with a new album, how about hiring an actual drummer and creating some good music.

The vocals too. It's like they are trying to imitate Brad to the bone, but using Brad's Rtz, CA lower vocals not Smoking/MTAf voice. That's annoying too.

I used to gig on cruise ships and for five of my eight years was with Standard Midi Files. I used to make my own and recreate drum tracks exactly like the recordings, some times taking up to 30 hours to get them right. Never hitting the quantized button either. This makes my Smfs , which were good, sound like a real drummer!!! Really starting to think Tom has some kind of mental issue to be turning out garbage like this,

The Last Real Boston Album was Walk On. No, It didn't have Brad, but it was damn good.
Sonically , the first album was the best, John Boylan never received due credit for that album.
He stated Tom was great at recording guitars, but knew nothing of recording acoustic drums (still don't)
The urban legend is that all the tracks were actually recorded in Toms Basement. Not quite true,
the Vocals and everything on "Let me Take You Home Tonight" were done in L.A. , John & engineers
did the Micing of the drums, and along with Tom , the mixing of the tracks. While John did state Tom
as being "a Genius" and a quick learner, all the albums done after him did not have the same sonic quality
especially the drums, and to a lesser degree the vocals. I would never advertise I spent 10 years on this current
offering, sad.

as I remember the story.. "Let me Take You Home Tonight" was recorded in L.A. to appease the label.. and make them think they were recording in L.A. while Scholz was back in Boston working on the album in his studio..

Why don't they get Rick Rubin to give these bands like Journey, Boston and others the 'Final" albums they deserve. He seems to know how to bring a band back to life…… of course a dead raccoon could record drums better than Tom.

You are correct. And that was John Boylans decision, as he was the producer. However, All the vocals were recorded
by John, and the Drums were recorded with his help regarding micing and mixing. Tom needed no help with Guitars
they were fantastic, and he did pretty damn good with a cheap Yamaha 12 string for Peace of mind & other tunes.
I also Think Toms Bass lines were incredible.

That is a very good idea, and you are correct on the drums...:) but would a great final album be the same without
Perry or Delp? no....not really possible , Tom blew it plane and simple.....
