Boy, I can't see them getting to the SB this year. They just seem to be too flawed. With that said, I'm a little mystified about how GB could be such a favorite for this game based on the weather. Last I checked, SF has a much better defense and a great running game... two things that will serve them well in the cold, even if they aren't "used" to it.

As a whole, the 49ers remind me a lot of the Jets' run a few years back. I love Frank Gore and some of their pieces on defense, but I do feel like their window might've closed already.

I know it's a rarity in Bungle land to have the best chance at winning their first playoff game in decades but getting hyped over prior regular season victories over "playoff" teams would be a Bengals fan first mistake in comparison because compared to week 3 and 5, the league has shifted and that was a long, long time ago. Don't get too barrel chested with those results:

As you can see, when the post-season arrives, whatever happened in the regular season means jack shit and shouldn't either give fans high hopes OR any reason to be down in the mud, which is why I think San Diego has just as good of a shot this weekend going into Cincy as anybody. The Bengals still fail to impress me in a nutshell. Can they be a team to make that run? Of course, but I'm going to have to see more to even put Cincy anywhere near the AFC Title game or any round for that matter.

My Picks:

Kansas City vs Indianapolis - Tough game. KC has the better team, but the Colts have the better QB and the domed stadium. I'm going with KC in a close one.

New Orleans vs Philadelphia - The Eagles are a bit inconsistent for my taste, but no more than the Saints are. Eagles by a TD.

Bengals vs. Chargers - Easiest game of the weekend for me. San Diego and soft as shit, and easily the worst team in the playoffs. Bengals by two TD's.

Green Bay vs. San Francisco - I think the 49'ers are the better team. That said, I'm not sure that this CA team is going into a zero degree Lambeau Field and winning a game. Packers by 3.

Everybody acts as though S.D doesn't have a shot in this one, but I do simply because if a 6th seeded team barely making the playoffs has any chance at pulling an upset, it's against the Bengals, who have been stellar at home. Maybe they fall. Show me, Cincy.

Green Bay is a dangerous ass team to bid for a home playoff spot and they got just that last week. Weather conditions in Lambeau aren't welcoming and it's a tough, tough spot to win. I haven't had the chance to watch much of S.F this season but Kap never seemed to do much for me.

Kudos to Indianapolis for coming back in this game. That first half was absolutely AWFUL! I almost feel like the Colts can't lose this game now. It seems like every player on the Chiefs is going down with a major injury and momentum is CLEARLY on Indy's side. No matter what happens, this is a GREAT step forward for Luck. I love how he really hung in there and brought his team back.

What a collapse. Frickin' KC. Bummed for Alex. Outside of a few mistakes, I think he played great. I really wanted him to win this. At the same time, I've liked Indy for several years and so I am happy for them.

Glad the Saints won, even though normally I might have pulled more for the Eagles. I was a Saints fan before bounty-gate. But then that whole thing bugged me. But now NO gets to go up to Seattle. Nice.

If the Niners make it past tomorrow, I think both Seattle and Carolina would be tough for them. But with the Saints winning, it still keeps open the possibility of one more NFC Championship game at Candlestick. And I for one would love to exact revenge on the Saints that day.

I'm ok with SD or CIN tomorrow. I've always kind of kept SD in my "like" column, but I'm impressed with CIN this year. Ultimately, I hope CIN wins. I hope the weather in that game and the SF-GB game isn't too much of a factor. I want football, not slop.

Wow...my picks fucking crashed and burned. 0-2 entering today's action. If I hold serve, it looks like SF and SD are going to win. I still cannot see San Diego winning this game. To me, their only chance is if Andy Dalton completely shits himself and just gives the game away. I just have a feeling that the Bengals cannot lose this game. Not sure why, but I still feel like the Bengals are going to mop the field up with the Chargers.

Well, the Cincy Winter Storm Warning has been canceled, the front stayed about 50 miles farther northwest. The game should still see rain and freezing rain mix but we won't see any snow here until probably after the game tonight.

Watching TV this am and I still can't believe that tailgaters can drink beer at 9 o'clock in the morning. How the hell can someone do that and still function for the game. I'd be wasted by 11 and back asleep at kickoff.

I have the pregame on right now, and according to them, it's 41 degrees there. It sounds to me that the weather isn't going to be much of an issue in this game. I still think the Bengals have a MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better team than the Chargers have.
