Wasn't it TNC that said MOS wouldn't have a sequel? Doesn't sound like it's in the immediate future.http://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/batm ... -producer/

Lets try and get up to date. Alter meant that comment as a joke and was trolling because of the non-stop falsities and hundreds of rumored articles on the direction of Superman/Batman and wannabe leakers and their so-called "sources."

Do you honestly think the producer would just so openly give that HUGE spoiler away? Don't think so. I read that article when it came out and I can't count how many times I've heard the hot-term "rumor."

Rumors are heating up. Rumors, rumors, rumors. If you ever followed this type of stuff, you can't be gullible and take every namedrop or article written as any type of confirmation. The studio toys with this kind of information.

Rumors are running wild with this one. It didn't take long for the "Bryan Cranston confirmed for Lex Luthor" rumors to start, only to be debunked, only to be brought back and only to be debunked again in favor of now...Denzel Washington or Joaquin Phoenix (who I'd die for.)

The article you referenced was on the 9th. Fast forward to this uproar and new development:

Rumor: 'Batman Vs. Superman' And 'Justice League' Movies Filming Together
http://www.capesonfilm.com/2014/01/batm ... movie.html

Which makes sense for the OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION of the film being pushed back 10 months for production timing, which would add up filming these blockbusters back to back and needing that time to get the castings in order and to follow through with the timeline and production:

BATMAN VS SUPERMAN Release Pushed Back To 2016!
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/ ... s/?a=93102

The latest rumor just "leaked" (I'm losing track of these leaks) of the script for Man of Steel 2 by a fired creative person working on the project. Literally, just hours ago:

RUMOR: Some Massive Possible MAN OF STEEL 2 SPOILERS
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/ ... s/?a=93240

Kevin Smith has also just confirmed that Snyder has officially shot Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill's promo-shoots for the movie and will be decided by him when to drop that bombshell on the mass's"

More From Kevin Smith On Ben Affleck's MAN OF STEEL 2 Bat-Suit
The actor/director has already said that he was shown a snap of his pal Ben Affleck wearing the new Bat-suit, but in the latest edition of his podcast, Smith goes into a bit more detail - revealing that Superman was also present in the picture he saw.
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/ ... s/?a=93226

Lets not even get started on Wonder Woman's role in this, where rumors said that she would be Kryptonian and the Amazon's would be descendants of the Kryptonian Race, which caused a huge internet uproar:

Rumor: How big will Wonder Woman's role be in Batman vs. Superman? Plus, a hint at her origin

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/how-big ... her-origin

Doomsday has been rumored to be the second villain to Lex, Metallo, Brainiac, Lobo, Bizarro, the whole 9 yards. All rumors to get the fire started purposley. See how this works?

We got nothing yet so take everything you read with a grain of salt until we get official confirmation from WB.

I hope like hell Lex Luthor isn't a villain in the next or any future Superman movies. He's got to be the lamest villain in the history of comic's. I say Lobo or some other REAL bad ass.

Luthor will be in the next movie. Don't be surprised if Joaquin Phoenix gets to play him.

Luthor's a shoe in for the next film. The hot debate is who will be the second villain, both consisting of Supes's rogue's gallery. I'd take a shot at either Metallo or Bizarro. As for Lex, as v said, Pheonix is close to signing the deal and is the kind of casting that comes around once, if not, ever. I'll be FLOORED to see JP land this role. This Lex is going to be a con of all cons. Pure evil with a purpose. The true Lex everybody ever wanted to see other than real-estate, bang 95 year old woman schemes. This Lex will be the real deal. Pheonix is too good to be true.

I think the other villain will be Metallo.

JP will be good. He looks like a nut.

So was Bryan Cranston as Luthor just a rumor? Or did he turn it down?

Rumor, though he has been in talks since the get-go and could be a finalist if Pheonix turns it down. Right now, the ball is in Pheonix's court and the role is basically his but Snyder has been quoted to say that he is swinging for the fence's for Lex in the casting department so expect a bigtime, bigtime A-lister (other big names thrown around were Denzel Washington, Matthew McConaughey and Leo.)

Cranston can do the gig justice, without a doubt, but not sure where he would fit into that category but he mentioned at one point wanting to play this type of villain.

Good news for Pheonix fans: The other project he was throwing up in the air has folded. I'd expect Pheonix cast as Lex here very soon. But that's more of just wishful thinking on my part. Dude is as mysterious as it comes.

Cranston is amazing, but I think he's a bit older than Luthor should be.

And if any of you saw The Desolation of Smaug, the guy who plays Bard (Luke Evans) really should've been cast as Batman. Ben will take some getting used to.

Gal Gadot has been signed for a standalone WW movie! About flippin' time.

Luke Evans was my first and only choice to don the cowl. Him and Cavill are friends and have worked on some projects together so their chemistry would of been through the roof and know each others acting tendencies.

That said, casting Evans would be in the same theory as the reasoning behind not casting Cranston (too old.) Evans, for this particular Batman they want to tell, wouldn't fit the vision of an older Batman.

Now that the months have set in, I've warmed up to Affleck. I think he can get the job done and surprise some people.

As for Wondy. I know one thing, Gadot is going to be I-N-T-E-N-S-E. Chick loves to get down and dirty and loves the rough nature of portraying a warrior princess like Wonder Woman. She's a tough one. She's signed a 3 movie picture, which is obviously a smaller role in BM/SM; getting her feet wet in Justice League and then full throttle for her solo outing.

Though Batman/Superman was pushed back to May 6th, 2016, reports are that production has not (though it was announced) and Affleck and Cavill have been called on site to shoot in Michigan in February, as regularly scheduled. They are obviously shooting BM/SM back to back with JL. BM/SM '16 followed by JL in '17. No doubt.

I'm glad they pushed it back. They need to do it right. 2015 was just rushing it into a "versus" position with Avengers: Age of Ultron.

I want Justice League to blow my dick off.

It's going to be a visual spectacle that's for sure, especially nailing down Supes and Batman's world colliding. Seriously, this won't be no walk in the park to do right, especially filming back to back with JL (if they are.) DC is 1 million times harder to create a magical universe where Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern and say, Darkseid exist. Marvel isn't that complicated so Snyder has his hands full to make this all make sense. 2016 is a good push-back year. The end result could be massive.

Eisenberg is SO LEFTFIELD. Snyder is throwing curve-ball after curve-ball. Their direction is going to be something so unique and you see it in the casting. They are going the Smallville route with Lex. Younger, brasher, cockier businessman who is spoiled by his own shenanigans. He played a good Lex in Social Network. Dudes a dick. Lets see if he can do this....

Cavill is going to TOWER over Eisenberg. I can see the dialogue being exchanged cold-heartedly. Lex looking up to Supes in a jealous rage: "ALIEN!" The contrast is so unique and different here.

Ones thing for sure, we are getting that over-intellectual, brilliantly corrupt and stone cold businessman Lex Luthor rather than the threatening, physical menace. Cavill is everything Eisenberg isn't. This is an easy look on paper to understand the hate Lex could have all around.

Jesse looks like a whiny little rich kid wuss. This isn't Zombieland (which I like a lot). Lex should be somewhat intimidating. Phoenix would've been the right choice for eccentric, psychotic, brilliant and sufficiently brash and intimidating. J.E. isn't villain material. This could really bring the movie down.

No doubt Pheonix was too good to be true. The sole reason why he was never going to land the role to begin with. It was all pretty much perfect cast, fan speculation and that never happens but that's in the minds of how we view Lex, not the films direction.

Eisenberg is different. He plays the petty, whiny, egotistical filth of a character pretty damn good. It'll be easy to hate him as Lex. A young CEO businessman with bright ideas with genius intellect with everything swept from underneath him.

This is wildy fresh to cast this guy. It's an inspired choice. Afterall, the filmakers are the ONLY ones to know their character and the movie they are making. One things for sure: Eisenberg must of left an everlasting impression with his screen-test. Another unpopular choice that could pay off in the end. A unique cast across the board.

From Snyder:

“What’s great about Lex is that he exists beyond the confines of the stereotypical nefarious villain. He’s a complicated and sophisticated character whose intellect, wealth and prominence position him as one of the few mortals able to challenge the incredible might of Superman. Having Jesse in the role allows us to explore that interesting dynamic, and also take the character in some new and unexpected directions.”

He lost me with "joke, joke, joke.." line line.. "joke, joke, joke." We know this isn't the WB/DC way of doing things and it's not the way Lex is going to be portrayed OR the way this universe is going to be portrayed. "I'm going to catch you Superman & Batman!"

Really? Why? Because of the mop on his head? Shave it and I bet people change their tune.

Eisenberg fits what they want to do, which is something N-O-B-O-D-Y has a clue of. He's a good actor. Does he look menacing? No, but he can be awkward and cold. He can act. It's an unpopular choice. If Snyder knows what he's doing above ALL, it's casting. If you think about Eisenberg in the role, and really think about it, a lightbulb may go off. Or not, that's why you watch the movie.
