Smith replaced Aynsley in the fall of '78. I believe his first public gig with the band was the King Biscuit Flower Hour broadcast. The top photo was not taken at the same time as the other photos. Top photo was from Infinity era, the other photos were from Evolution era (no porn-stache on Gregg).
