Yep Steve sings and finally puts to rest the rumor of the Journey reunion. :)

Hmm, is that a new song? He gave us a tidbit! Amazes me what talent is inside a person! It's going to be hard to wait to hear his new music. No more teasin! He's got to come from behind the curtain!

Perry has so much goodwill coming his way, all he has to do is show up somewhere and he's instantly fawned over...

Journey OTOH, couldn't buy this kinda good will...

I am one of those people that would really like Steve Perry to stop talking about new music and stop being coy about his plans. I guess for the majority of the public that only hear these things in snippets it gets exciting, but for someone like me who is always out reading it is just kind of cruel of him. He hasn't released a song since 1998. That's right a child born when his last song came out can drive a car now.

Having said that, the idea of him working with Nathan Furst, who is an incredibly gifted composer, has really made me want to hear this. It is obvious that he loves movies, I would be stoked if he would record songs for movies and TV shows. 3 or 4 a year would be outstanding. I'm not talking about full movie scores. Just songs.

Steve sounds great, but not going to get too excited... been down that road too many times. It's just nice to see him out and about and occasionally giving us a little nugget here and there. And thanks to the great posters here feeding us the latest updates.

Can't help but be amazed about the fawning over SP at these public events over the years...as Slucey said. I mean, 20yr olds toward a guy in his 60's ... surely, no wonder SP would have the same effect on us middle-agers. It's got to be the songs, right? These kids identify with the voice in those songs... as we, too, have been...for so long.

Check out how evasive his body language gets as soon as she asks about the new music. :(

Nice that he went with Sam Cooke!
Nice the he also put an end to the rumours rather than giving some dumbass cryptic answer.

"Who Knows?"

Yup. Same ol' Steve.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

In all fairness, in the interview that started this whole rumor thing going, by ArtisanNews Service:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_gLsmJ ... EgMjKS_33A

we don't hear the actual question asked, or how the question was worded. The interview is narrated and the narrator states:
"So has he gotten in touch with Journey guitarist Neal Schon for a possible reunion?"

Steve's reply: "I haven't worked with Neal, no."

Steve's reply makes no mention of "getting in touch with.." anyone. Without knowing what exactly he was asked, there is no way to know who or what he is referring to when he continues on with "We're trying...". He seems to be replying to a different question regarding Neal. Without knowing exactly what he was asked, and how it was worded, there is no way to say he was being cryptic.

To my thinking, it is once again totally irresponsible reporting, skewing things to stir up interest and get more hits for their little websites. They certainly succeeded in that! Most of their clips have averaged about 1-2K in views. Perry's clip has over 21K views!

Would be interesting to know what exactly the question was that Steve replied to, not the statement that the narrator dubbed in.

He actually sounded good for that little blurb. It almost seems that he is coming out of his shell a little bit, no?
