Today the Reverend Fred Phelps expired. I'm sure the fires of Hell will welcome him as he deserves. May his funeral have the dignity he showed for so many others. My bet is it will be one of the best kept secrets of the year. I wouldn't want to be the funeral director that has to handle him.

They don't want it to be a secret and I can guarantee you that they would simply LOVE IT if people protested and interrupted it. Fred Phelps said so when he was alive. Those sickos feed off publicity, regardless of whether it's negative or positive (mostly negative, obviously). The best thing that could happen would be if absolutely no one showed up and that it barely made a blip in the news.

What? A Democrat that did not have a progressive viewpoint when it comes to same sex couples and same sex marriage, this cannot be. Only conservative Republicans have those kind of views.

The family announced there would be no funeral. I don't know about them wanting the world to know about his funeral, but they sure kept it secret where he was and how he died. Natural causes is all that's been said.

He had actually been excommunicated from the Westboro Baptist Church after getting into a confrontation with church elders. I'm not sure what it was about but they probably don't have any elaborate plans for him.
