Welcome home Mr. Perry. Steve Augeri

Steve Augeri FB...

2 hours ago near Staten Island, NY

Today I experienced what I or any singer or songwriter dreams of and aspires to but seldom achieves.

That is to be moved to tears, tears... by a singer and his or her song. The singer, Steve Perry, and the song penned by The Eels, "It's a Mother Fucker".

I am / was apprehensive of writing and expressing myself because there will be those who will perceive this to be either a kissing of the "tuckus" or… a show of disrespect to the gentleman who so successfully and beautifully followed us both, Arnel. They are neither, but a tribute to, and an acknowledgement of, an achievement that so many thought no longer obtainable.

This should be a lesson and an inspiration to us all. It certainly is to me.

Welcome home Mr. Perry.

Steve Augeri
Perry's good natured bonhomie & the world’s most charmin smile, knocked fans off their feet. Sportin a black tux, gigs came alive as he swished around the stage thrillin audiences w/ charisma that instantly burnt the oxygen right out of the venue.TR.com

GREAT, accurate assessment by Mr. SA...classy guy!

When it's real...it's REAL.

SP is the "real thing".

Wish the band would comment more on what he's doing/done. Only gonna help their tix/record sales...

Augi always was straight up class.

Neal has already commented on it, via the Journey (FB) page (at least I think it was Neal - most of the "band" band posts sound like they are written by him (meaning they sound like a 12 year old wrote them), saying they were leaving the past in the past and moving on. I laugh that they said that shit the same day as Arnel commented so positively on SP.

What a nice man. There's one song that he did while with Journey that just slays me every time I listen to it. I believe it's called "I'm Not That Way" that song brings tears to my eyes.
