Ask Neal or Ross to play a 65 year old guitar with a busted string or two... I can guarantee it won't be pretty. Fortunately for them, they can simply swap out their instruments whenever necessary. SP doesn't quite have that luxury. I think it's plainly obvious that he takes what he has and shapes & molds it to still bring as much of SMFP as possible. And I'm so happy he's having a blast doing it.

Another analogy is...imagine if NS had an issue with his left hand (fretting hand) that left him without full range of motion. Do you think he could still play all the Journey catalog verbatim and at tempo?

He'd have to "adapt" his playing to what he's capable of...same thing with Perry.
