Thank you. You asked many of the questions that I would. Still wish he would consider Darryl's House. :)

Thank you so much Lora. I had a million questions I wanted to ask him, but the main was how he felt before and after. He answered that in your interview. I really enjoyed it. Congratulations to SP for everything he has been doing, he has sure made our days FUN-NER recently.

the part about "singing at live levels" was telling, to me. Of COURSE Steve MF Perry has done some singing in the last 20 years, but my guess is it has been in very controlled situations. Singing backup for David Pack, and others. Most of them, he hasn't really been audible, other than on the Pack song.

But to be THE singer, in front of a band and in front of an audience, that is a whole different thing. Blowing off the rust is an apt description. He DID sound much better in DC. I suspect that if he keeps doing it, the voice will come back a bit more.

:D :D :D

Such a wonderful, lineal discussion from Steve ...:)

After watching all the videos ...with earphones ....... ;)
it is so clear that even after being gone for so long from singing live,
it is completely natural for Steve, as though he had not left at all...

Didn't miss a beat, and what I really loved about all of this, is that Steve
let the audience breath deep, and let them know that he was there to
share with them and hopefully make everything OK for a bit!!!

Steve is so delightful when he works, it's truly just breaths shy of heaven,
when he sings!!!

Never can get enough.... :!:

Thank you Lora!!!

Great feature story, Lora.... hope you guys get a lot of views to your website. The interview gives fans another insight to the psyche of SP and re-living the best of the videos from those 3 shows gave me another high. It's been the best week for SP fans ever .... problem is once the floodgates open, you want more and more ...

Let me add my thanks to Lora, FA and to Steve. It does sound like Steve has rediscovered his love for singing. Think we will be hearing more from him in the near future, and really hoping that will include him recording "It's a Motherfucker". His take on that song is just hauntingly beautiful.

It was great seeing Steve get out again. Singing in front of Eels fans is great. Think of what the reaction he would get if he sang in front of die hard Steve Perry fans. We have been waiting so long.

Steve Perry on Journey’s Arnel Pineda: ‘He’s Their Lead Singer’

by Ken Kelley June 20, 2014 10:06 AM

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/steve-pe ... m=referral

Former Journey lead singer Steve Perry’s long-awaited return to the stage late last month has naturally fueled speculation as to whether the vocalist would ever reunite with his former band. But in a new interview, he is once again quick to both dash those rumors and pay his respects to the man who has held that position for over seven years now.

Speaking with Fan Asylum, Perry confirms that “there is no reunion” plan in the works between him and Journey. Asked what he thought of current singer Arnel Pineda‘s respectful and presumably not literal offer to step aside so that he could have his old job back, Perry says, “I don’t know who or what would make Arnel want to say such a thing. He’s their lead singer and I wish him all the best.”

Perry also adds that he was very surprised by how strong a reaction his return garnered. “I woke up in St. Paul, MN thinking I’d have a little YouTube leak about the gig and that would be it. After 20 years of not singing live I really thought I could just stick my toe in the Waters of Love and then go home and start blowing the rust off my pipes……. but that’s not what happened.”

After getting a taste for the stage in St. Paul, Perry subsequently joined Eels for two other performances: one in Washington, D.C., the other in Los Angeles. But aside from hinting at a new solo record, Perry has not shared what his future plans may hold.

This is not the first occasion of Perry denying that a Journey reunion was in the works. Earlier this month, Perry stated that his return to the live performance arena was strictly for fun. Journey is currently on tour with the Steve Miller Band and Tower of Power. You can get all their latest tour dates here.

It has been a while since I have been on here and I am just catching up. Thanks for the interview. It is good to see him having a good time in his life again. Regardless of how often or how brief, he has a beautiful voice and it is always good to see him on stage. I hope he is happy in life. I am always one of the late ones to discover news like this...life just keeps me so busy these days. Lora I know you keep busy yourself, I appreciate you taking the time to do all this. Scratch Cookie behind the ear for me will ya?

Hi Lora...thanks for bringing us this! Here's hoping we hear more singing (or possibly CD) from him again...wondering what that televised thing is about but...yes, like someone mentioned Daryl's house would be a great place to do it.

Daryl Hall and SP were in the "We Are the World" thing. They are from the same era and probably have lots of mutual musician friends. Artists are a close knit fraternity. Lots from that same genre/era have already shown up at Daryl's House. How cool would that be if Daryl could somehow nudge Steve into a session with him? Heck, get Kenny Loggins and David Pack to join in. Acoustics 4-piece. Bet Steve can't say no to that. Randy Jackson can back-up. YT would go viral in 2 hrs.....!
