I was half watching the American Idol finale last night. This is Caleb Johnson's could be coronation song.

It sounds very old school Rock & Roll which is what he wants. But will it sell? It seems to me that certain people are sitting around waiting for a new young white male star to emerge from out of nowhere and be able to bring the youth back to rock and roll. But those same certain people aren't the ones supporting any new music-musicians.
At one point Daughtry was all over the place, he has a new album out now. But have you heard any of his new songs on the radio? I haven't. But it is burning up on the charts on Freegal- just like Bruce Springsteen's. They thought the same thing about David Cook too. I still hear "Light On" on the radio sometimes. But radio didn't support him either. Constantine Maroulis was another one- but he was better suited to Broadway and Rock Of Ages. Then there's Kris Allen who dropped off the face of the earth after "Live Like You're Dying" and Adam Lambert who's going to front Queen. But Adam Lambert's a total star, you may not hear him on the radio all the time, but he gets his name out there a lot. I downloaded a bunch of his solo songs when he was on Glee.
The only rock or rock/punk bands that have any staying power today are No Doubt, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, and Green Day. Do you think Caleb has a shot of bringing rock back?
