I stumbled on this and thought I'd share. Wow. JP and the Ides pay tribute to Jimi. Very moving clip! We were so blessed to hear this man's amazing voice. Everything has already been said, but damn.

I saw this on Jim Peterik's facebook. This was awesome ! I wish Jim and Jimi had more time to do another cd together. They were the singer and the song . The big Memphis show in October looks to be good. Droubay and Peterik on the same stage again . Pretty awesome !

Are Peterik and Droubay going to play together in October? Will Sullivan be part of it?

Peterik and Droubay are gonna be part of a tribute show for Jimi Jamison and NO Frankie Sullivan won't be a part of this.

Lots of great musicians/singers....should be great.

So, the guy who talks about faith and decency at his bands shows, the man who would want a bible with him if he was trapped on a deserted island, is NOT attending a tribute to his "Brother" who died?

First of all J/S shame on you....for such a hideously uninformed response...

FS and I spent THREE DAYS discussing it....the "memorial" was a
concert.....NOT a funeral...had they had a service I am SURE we ALL would have been
there...as in the Survivor Guys and myself....it appeared to be a fight for who
could get stage time, not truly a respectful way to remember a close
friend....read FS's post on their FB page...perfectly stated and class all the way...

I have seen FS do boneheaded stuff over the years....we all have....he would admit it...BUT, this was PURELY out of his respect for JJ....we spent days in tears discussing him....what we lost....and quite frankly what the world lost...

I could not be more proud of how FS and the guys handled it, and what they have privately done since to honor JJ....

This was about a close friend passing...and Frankie is a mess....I talk to him
everyday....I don't know if he ever will recover from this....

He talked to JJ almost every day...they were SUPER close the past few years...all crap on BOTH sides was buried and they started anew....JJ made that clear to me...so did FS....both sides of the story...

A certain person pushing this thing hasn't hardly talked to JJ in over 18 months....JJ told me why....I leave that in private...yet now they are brothers....well, now there is an audience...

FS still almost went, but it would have been only to appease online keyboard
jockeys who did not really even know Jimi...He KNEW a select few fans of certain people would rail him for not attending the "Memorial"...it was a concert...

To think any of the guys....and FS....is getting railed for not attending a concert
widely attended by fans....well, that is just ludicrous....

Alright. I suppose that I was somewhat out of line, and jumped to conclusions. My view point was affected by past decisions that FS has made. But no need to get into any of that now. It would only lead to further arguing, which I'm sure is not something that Jimi would want.

Joe, I was at both the funeral as well as the memorial and what you write about the memorial being a concert with people fighting for stage time could not be further from the truth. I was there. The memorial was longtime friends (many local) and family speaking, some of whom paid tribute in song (if that was an element of their bond with Jimmy/Jimi). The main "performers" (if you choose to characterize them that way) were his childhood friends, his two daughters, and his son-in-law. As well as a couple of his brothers from the road, who the family was very happy to have there. It was in no way a tribute concert, or even especially focused on music. The concert is the event that's coming up in October. I'll be there if I can make the finances work - hope to see you there.

I don't want to dishonor Jimi with any arguments.

In all honesty, Joe. I'm sorry if I offended you, or if I was unfair to FS. A good man who was a great friend to many people died, and the only "agenda" that anyone at all should have is to honor his memory.

It's totally normal even for very good friends to not talk or see each other for years...that's how life is..it takes different roads and paths and it is not always predictable. But human relationships are much deeper and intricate than that.
Who are we to interpret each person' way of expressing their feelings?

Nobody here knows the real truth other than the people emotionnaly involved (Jimi,Jim P and Frankie) and anybody else trying to solve this situation is not minding it's business and focussing on things that don't belong to them.......Love the music.....appreciate the artist.....forget about the personal situation.......They all had good moments together and bad ones......now put some music on and enjoy and respect everyone's personality for what it is without trying to choose a winner.......I know it's easier to say then to do sometimes but it's still what we all should do.

I can understand JV defending Frankie if he thinks people are saying wrong things about him though or anybody else defending Jimi or Jim.P in other circumstances..........but in the end who is right or wrong is none of our business.

We will respond to the question so many of you great fans have asked. It is a bit of a dare but the truth empowers us all...

Here you have it... And, it is nothing to be negative about and more about those running the event.

We, Jamo's current band and touring brothers, were not invited. We have nothing to do with the arrangement of the event or who is running it. We continue to have coomunication with Jamo's Daughter Amy. She is a good and very talented Gal much like here Father. While we will agree the entire band would have loved to have not only played but been honored in any tribute to Jamo. As we have currently stated, "we will not sensationalize the death of our brother."

Jim is up above, knows the truth, sees it more as we do and would agree. All of The Survivor Camp will do all we can to memorialize him in all ways possible.

Jim's Voice remains on recordings and stands alone as well as speaks for itself. He was for sure a one of a kind. No one delivered a song like Jamo. He was quick to nail it and often we used his scratch vocal while recording. That is the magic of each moment and recording any project with him was special.

While recording "Christmas Is Here" we found we used nearly the entire scratch vocal, the vocal Jamo sang while we were recording the track live. He was magical in while be totally at ease singing it was nearly effortless to him. Amazing really!

May Jim forever rest in peace and his spirit, sound and performances remain here to remind us all how special that voice was! Whew! I know, I sat behind the console on nearly every vocal he sang and at many times found myself amazed at his ability to deliver the goods at a very high level - (fs). We each miss him dearly and all in our own ways.

Anymore said, though fact, will come off as speculation and we do not go there, ever. There are many occurrences that happen in bands that shall remain between the folks who were actually present at the time. This is to be no exception.

So let us all allow Jim to rest in peace, truly, and get on with things. After all, that is what he liked best. We each shared a dislike for standing sill and observing. The weeds never grew well under our feet. Music does and will heal us all when we allow. And we do...

On with the show, as Jim would want it. He's been gone in this life for over a month now and no doubt in the best of all places. We know what he would say and do if any of the roles were to be reversed. That is why we call each other 'touring brothers". It is no cheap statement and comes with an understanding that all of the travel, hotels, dressing rooms, shows, etc, are to remain between us. Those conversations and interactions are not for the public.

God Bless you all this Sunday. Enjoy the day and have at your own life. This also serves as a reminder regarding how short our time on this earth truly can be. You have to make the most out of each and every day and that Is no cliche but rather pure and simple truth.

In the end, one must always be true to ourselves above all. Without that element we each can become quickly lost in life. Say what you mean and mean what you say, with no exception.

When artists (or any other know person) choose to have a public open account, they inevitably have to deal with the negative sides of it: people would feel in power to argue over anything, really. To be honest, I didn't feel the band was obliged to give an explanation at all

I agree with both of you Mikele/Joe V......I don't see why someone should argue over a post a band or member makes and at the same time when you post something public you gotta know some people will comment it and it can get negative a lot....I know I've never been shy to comment but when it comes to something like the loss of someone I wont take any chances to put my nose in this and comment in rude manners as its not my fucking business and I know nothing anyway.....it's a matter of respect.....All I dislike about Survivor (and it's not much) I've said in the past and RIGHT NOW is NOT the moment to add some personal opinion about the behaviors of no one.

Yes, principally there is no obligation for the band to explain, why noone joined the memorial. Certainly everyone is entitled to mourn individually. What bothers is, that the info about the memorial provided by James Jamison (JJ's son I guess) was and still is explicitly provided on the band's website. No wonder that readers and fans would exspect some band members to appear. Why has the event been promoted on the website, when it is considered as an inappropriate, sensationalizing "concert"? What would have been the problem to show up without performing there?

Well, what the heck, does not change anything.

Referring to inadequacy is something, behaving adequate another. I guess, noone has to worry about some people not getting over JJ's passing. One fellow recently had a "great" week and the other one twitters about relaxing on the rooftops and watching movies. It still amazes me, how the social media tools lead people to deliver so much irrelevant trivia - especially under those circumstances. Some sound info on new music, projects, live activities would be a lot more interesting and appropriate.
