The San Francisco Giants took a 2-1 lead in the NLCS vs. the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday thanks to small-ball powered 5-4 walk-off win in 10 innings. Cardinals reliever Randy Choate walked Brandon Crawford to start the bottom of the 10th. Juan Perez followed with a single. Gregor Blanco squared up to sacrifice bunt, however Choate threw the ball into right field allowing Crawford to score.

Somewhere in Kansas City, a man named Ned smiles.

Although the game went 10 innings, it only took about three hours and 10 minutes to finish — a welcome relief this postseason.

Also smiling? Former Journey frontman Steve Perry, who is apparently a big Giants fan. The 1980s icon attended the game at AT&T Park Tuesday and sang along lip synced the band’s famed power ballad, Don’t Stop Believin’ during the eighth inning. The song probably inspired the Giants during the decisive 10th inning as they presumably held on to that feeeeeeling.

That may or may not be true, but this photo is too good to pass up:

The Giants beat the Cardinals, 5-4, in 10 innings, so there were plenty of joyous fans on hand at AT&T Park. But perhaps no one had as good a time as the former frontman for Journey, Steve Perry.

Perry, who has said that San Francisco’s 2010 World Series run “saved me” and had “gotten me back into music,” has certainly gotten into leading home crowds in seventh-inning stretch renditions of “Don’t Stop Believin’.” He did that during Game 3 of the Giants’ previous series against the Nationals, and with the team back home after splitting the opening pair of NLCS games at St. Louis, Perry was also back.

And seemingly more into it than ever. Perry hasn’t performed with his estranged bandmates since the late 1990s, and in fact has been somewhat of a recluse in recent years, but you’d never know that from his hammy appearances at AT&T Park.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The Giants beat the Cardinals, 5-4 in 10 innings, so there were plenty of joyous fans at the game.

But perhaps no one had as good a time as the former front man for Journey, Steve Perry.

Perry led fans in the 7th inning stretch of his band's hit song 'Don't Stop Believin.'

He even runs down the stadium steps to whoop up the crowd.

Perry hasn't performed with his estranged band mates since the late 1990s, and in fact has been somewhat of a recluse in recent years.

A California native, Perry is obviously a huge Giants fan, and a very happy man this morning after his team won.
