Alter Bridge artistic nod to Journey

I know there are a few Alter Bridge fans here, and I wondered if any of you who have the album Fortress ever noticed how much the bridge in "Cry a River" sounds like "Edge of the Moment" from Eclipse. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, they say.

I don't think Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge/Creed guitarist) deliberately stole this, but I remember reading in an interview where Mark Tremonti said that he admires Schon's playing and ability to come up with a melody. Makes me think that he owns Eclipse and the melody seeped into his conscious.

You're right, I thought it was similar too. But I think bridge in the AB track is closer because of the drums and bass as well as guitar
