Why don't the release Captured deluxe exition

It would be great to expand this great live album to include other songs from that era, Lovin' You is Easy, Patiently, People And Places, Precious Time to name a few, also remaster it, does anyone care?

I'm sure Perry is in some underground bunker doing just that right now. 8)

I wish that were true. With so much great stuff locked away in the vaults, why not let it out for all to enjoy and add to their coin bank at the same time? :)

My guess is that after Journey call it quits for good, they will then release old recordings to continue to make money for the rest of their lives.

Does anyone think this band will ever call it quits? I don't see it. Neal has known nothing but the road since he was 14. He will never be content to just sit at home. While I can see it being becoming harder and harder to convince Jon to tour incessantly, there's not going to be any "farewell" tour for this band. The residencies may increase though.

I think they will quit very soon. Cain is not into it and wants to do the Nashville songwriter/producer thing. Neal will never stop playing, but I think Journey is a love hate thing with him. He loves it because it pays the bills, hates it because it constrains him musically. I think he will just play with everyone everywhere after Journey as a soloist and as a guest artist/session player. The others I'm not so sure about, but I really think the party is over already, for the most part.

Would buy it in a heartbeat - I imagine the bootleg Houston show from 1980 is about as close as you can get. You also missed the closing of every show with Opened the Door, a staple from 78-80 and yet it was left off Captured. I think they wound up moving "Opened" up a few tracks, and began closing with Precious Time - an equally good tune in it's own right, but how OTD didn't make Captured is a travesty. I would love a rerelease studio production with the notable tracks included this time around.

I have 2 versions of the 80 Houston show, it is almost perfect but the speed seems a bit slow to my ear, from how captured sounds, I want an official release

I think you're right - I've heard two versions of that show, one has increased bass (which I like), and the tempo does seem a tick slower. My point was, it's probably what a full release of Captured would be, but with better production.
