random Jonathan Cain encounter

Thursday morning I was getting off the elevator in the lobby of my apartment building (downtown Nashville) and almost bumped into JC! He was with a middle-aged blonde woman. I quickly said "good morning, really enjoy your work" and he smiled and said thanks while they were getting on the elevator. He was wearing a leather jacket and black jeans. I didn't recognize the woman and it's a small building, so if she is a tenant or condo owner she must be new. I'll introduce myself to her if I see her again.

Thanks for sharing. On the rare occassions I have met a celebrity, I usually go for the understated polite route too. Some overbearing fans might have ran into the elevator and pressed every button just to stall for time...

Reminds me of a very uncomfortable elevator ride I took with Jesse James Dupree of Jackyl one time.

I didn't give a fuck who Jackyl was and didn't give JJD anymore than a polite smile, but he sighed loudly and stuck his face in the corner for the entire 3 floor trip, saying nothing.

I don't believe the woman I saw him with was Paula White but I wasn't really paying attention to her.

Apparently, he & Liz are no longer married. I only caught a snippet of a clue way down in the "Journey New Album ..." thread from a Tater' post (who seems to always find little nuggets to keep it interesting reading for us).

It is quite a shock. Seems like just last year when we read that whimsical journal JC wrote about spending his last night in the old Novato family home (one where his 3 kids were born and raised in) uprooted everyone to Nashville.

Tsk tsk... older married guy ... taking up with hot blonde ... not hard to figure who was pushed aside. Of course, this is all speculation, we don't know what happened and it's none of our business.

But if I were Liz, I'd demand full royalties on all these cheesy Journey love ballads Jon has wrote about/to me all these years...

Weren't Open Arms and Faithfully written for his first wife Tane Cain ? She should've gotten all that money long time ago. Always thought that if there were a Journey movie Tane and Jonathan's love story would have a big part.

I had the opportunity to meet Jonathan a few years ago when he returned to his high school in Chicago to do a benefit concert. I found him to be confident, personable, and rather grounded. Brought the high school choir on stage for a couple of numbers which was very cool.

While I am not familiar with her work, I've read that (Pastor??) Paula White is one of those televangelist type preachers who sucks her congregations dry. Apparently her and her ex-husband flew around the country in private jets and lived a very lavish lifestyle at the expense of their previous church.

I haven't seen JC since the random encounter in February, but a stack of mail addressed to him has been sitting on top of the building's mailboxes all week. Does anybody have contact info for JC, or his and/or Journey's management? I looked online but couldn't find anything. I'm happy to forward the mail to him, just don't know where to send it. Looks like official mail that he would definitely want.
