After speaking with a few sources, I’m happy to report the first Batman v Superman trailer is on the cusp of being released. I’m told it’s absolutely attached to all copies of Mad Max: Fury Road, which is an obvious place for it to debut seeing as how Mad Max is WB’s first big movie of the summer. What I’ve heard is that Warners isn’t sure it wants to release the trailer while Avengers: Age of Ultron is destroying records and driving all social traffic during the end of April and early May. If they wait until the weekend Mad Max opens on May 15th, Avengers will have already been out for two weeks and they can take over the conversation at a time when everyone is ready to talk about Batman and Superman. The bottom line is: we will absolutely have seen the first Batman v Superman trailer by May 15th.

At the last minute Marvel should push back the release date for Age of Ultron just to fuck with DC some more. Just release the damned trailer and quit being a bunch of pussies. Sheesh.

It's May 15th. Variety confirmed it and Variety doesn't fuck around. I can see us getting a official poster or some tease of a tease before then but May 15th is our day. I'll be happily surprised to see it online sooner but not expecting it. 1 Mad Max ticket purchased.

DC knew the date of AOU for a very long time. This move makes perfect sense and has nothing to do with Marvel or AOU, but the fact that the Star Wars trailer is to play before AOU. It's not wise to sandwich yourself with a couple things that was always going to be the dominant talk on the social media front. Releasing BvS on May 15th will give them the perfect exposure within' their own property (Mad Max/WB) and have the stage all to themselves, which the first ever Superman/Batman movie deserves. By then, people will be foaming at the mouth more-so than they already are. Everybody, on May 15th will have the majority of the the Avengers/Star Wars hype off their chest and will be ready for some BvS.

Would still be nice to see the trailer online beforehand, but I don't think.

I agree, it's not a pussy move to hold back on unleashing the trailer because too much of a good thing can water everything down. Yeah, I want to see it, but if they show it at WonderCon, it's going to get leaked and they know that. Which doesn't help impatient muthafuckaz like moi.

If reports are accurate and Leto is beefing up to match the appearance of the Frank Miller Joker, then Leto seems a little young for the role. I would have preferred someone a little older, with more nutso gravitas. Think Sean Penn or Ray Liotta or Pacino in Devil's Advocate mode.

They need somebody they can keep around for a few films. I'm not sure if somebody like Penn would commit to a multi-film deal. Liotta's just wrong (think Tommy Lee Jones' portrayal of Two-Face) and Pacino's a fine actor, but he's long in the tooth. I think Leto will pull this off.

Rumor has it that Zack Snyder is going to release a 5 second teaser of the BvS trailer tomorrow morning (Thursday) around 9am; 1 hour before the release of the Star Wars trailer. From there, they will release dates to specific iMAX theaters where the full trailer will be played on Monday; April 20th and will be released online the next day, the 21st. There will be 2 trailers; the second being 15 more seconds longer. The run time is 2:06 with the additional 2nd trailer shown at 2:31 seconds.

Here's an interesting take on this trailer biz. I agree with what the guy says about AoU trailer/featurette/footage overkill. That's why I don't watch anything until I see the movie. After they showed Hulk saving Iron Man last time, nothing's sacred.

That's what I love about Snyder. He's a workout warrior and he demands huge from his actors to get into the mindset of allowing their body follow the mind of their characters. When it comes to this DCCinematic Universe, you bet your ass they are going to look everything like the comic book part and then some. Cavill is already 2X bigger than he was in MoS and Affleck is beastly.

Seriously, a lot of negative feedback? I've avoided that section of SHH for a while now. I figured it would be an improvement over the last movie. I think The Winter Soldier raised the bar, though.

I've jumped off the Marvel train after Thor TDW. My interest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is slim to none. I can't get into it the way others are, but it's just my preference. Other than Hulk, Wolvie and Cyclops, I'm not that into Marvel as a whole whatsoever. Going into the spoiler section of AOU doesn't bother me because I have little interest and I'm behind on their last few films. The desire isn't there and the care factor is zilch.

As for BVS, once this thing is blue hot, I won't be ANYWHERE near the internet. Guranteed!

You should watch Cap 2. That will completely wash away the disappointment of TDW. The fight choreography is excellent.

I know you don't watch Gotham but it's great, it's gotten better and better.
