In this case, it's role reversal. Instead of having development of goodie goodie best friends at first and then have it develop towards angst, it's reversed. We will see the angst towards each other setup from the events of Man of Steel but the development phase will occur in the movie itself when other parties are involved that solve Superman and Batman's understanding of each other, hence: Dawn of Justice. There's MORE to this than just "BATMAN IS FIGHTING SUPERMAN THE WHOLE MOVIE! DERRDuhDUERR!" There's a reason for it. Watch to find out what's really happening.

Some people prefer (require) an extremely traditional approach to storytelling. Prelude (catalyst), first act (introduce the characters), second act (introduce the conflict), third act (climax without protection), and all that jizz. I mean jazz.

It's pretty obvious that something will turn the tide at a certain point, and Bats ad Supes (and rumor has it, Wondy) will join forces against another foe/force that poses a greater threat to innocents. It's supposed to end on a cliffhanger (so I hear, but it's all up in the air). I don't know why some people don't get that, but what can you do?

I have this friend who I used to eat lunch with 1-2 times a week when we worked near each other. We'd go to our favorite Chinese place, a great hole-in-the-wall. This wasn't like Panda, this was good stuff. However, every time we went, my friend would place the same order. Exactly the same, every single time, without fail. "Orange chicken." I would always go, "Dude, get the Mongolian beef, it's really fuckin' good!" "Try to 'Tso' combo, chicken with onions, veggies, she uses a lot of spice." "Hey, get the #12. Looks awesome." NOPE. Always, always, always the same 'orange chicken' order. He wanted to eat the same thing, every single time. I understand the comfort in sticking to the same old, same old, but some people are like this with their movies, their books, their music.

This isn't "opinion". It is a psychological FACT that humans enjoy stories best when told in a very specific way...especially "hero" type stories. When dramatic stories are NOT told in that way, they fail...they have plot issues, the characters were not developed, the story ran too long or was too short, it was boring, it was all one dimensional with action scene after action scene. If you go and look up the top 10 most successful movies of all time, I can almost gaurantee you that they all followed the same patterns of drama. It doesn't matter if it's Star War, Indiana Jones, Avatar, or whatever...or, you can go back to Odyseus, or Perseus, or Hercules, or whoever you favorite ancient hero is...even Jesus. Even something off the wall like Grease follows the same patterns as Star Wars. They are all told in the same way.

So, again, if people don't give a damn about these characters, the movie will fail. People asking "why are they fighting?" is not a good thing.

So, NO, trying a new way will NEVER work as well as following good story telling practices.

Hypocritical. It doesn't surprise me, though that Marvelites have that blind-eye turn of the cheek attitude when acting like the biggest name that kickstarted the Marvel Universe and gets top billing over the Age of Ultron title itself never talked smack. And he said that to the press. Momoa did a fan a favor.

Source?

There's a new Godzilla movie coming from Toho next year. Legendary's Godzilla 2 is scheduled for a 2018 release. The Kong movie I know of, Skull Island, is also coming from Legendary, scheduled for 2017 or thereabouts.

I don't know anything about another King Kong vs. Godzilla movie. Wouldn't work, anyway. Kong isn't that big. Godzilla would step on him or charbroil him and go for a swim.

Oh, wait...you're joking! Haha! You funny guy. :)

Actually, it's not. It's been rumored for a long time. Google it and find out.

A joke would be saying that there was going to be a Godzilla vs Aquaman, "The Battle for Atlantis" movie. This movie was going to tie in to Stargate: Atlantis to the DCCU. It was to be revealed that Ronan and Aquaman are the same person. But, since Momoa wants to play roles that involve more than grunting, he turned it down and also left his role as Aquaman in any future movies.

Speaking of Godzilla, I picked up this original art piece at Pittsburgh Comic Con a few weeks ago. Love the perspective of this and it stuck out! The fine detail is amazing and the scale and threat of Godzilla is simply awesome. The same dude had a Hulk V Superman print, but it was nowhere near this:

Notice they didn't quote Jackson, Mackie and Downey. They've been less than diplomatic towards the DCCU.

Worse still, there is no real tension invested in any of these scenes, no sense of genuine threat. Thousands of people might well be reyling on the Avengers to save them, but director Joss Whedon (Avengers 1, Buffy, etc) never wants you to feel that they'll ever come to any real harm. Even dogs are safe.

As a point of contrast, check out the footchase in Yann Demange's thriller '71; it's a far superior action scene than anything in this bloated dross because the stakes are so high as a man runs for his life.

It's an unfortunate predilection among some fanboys to read profundity and deep meaning and all manner of mythological import into superhero films. And while that might hold up with the Dark Knight and Superman films - which hark from Marvel rival DC Comics - any claims of Avengers 2 having any moral depth fall flat in the face of the film's total lack of coherence.

Lmao at the bold and underline. MoS got buried into the ground by actually having a villain capable of putting people in danger and throwing it to the audience that casualties will happen in this brawl and now AoU is getting buried by havin civilians yawning and counting down the seconds to when the fights are over so they can get back to their twerking session.

The reluctant "maybe" was good acting. He was fearful to what the world would do to his son if he was ever caught. He wanted Clark to save people and use his powers for good. Right after that "maybe" in the same scene, he told Clark people are afraid of what they don't understand and he has to keep this side of himself a secret. Use it, but don't get caught in fear of being discovered.

Jonathan was right from what the people would do to him:

Shnep and Campea from AMC Movie Theater talk more about the BvS teaser. Campea goes wild.

Shnep said he read a bit of the script and it's a perfect blend that works. I don't sleep on Shneps analysis, he's well respected:

Just Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans slutshaming the Black Widow
http://i100.independent.co.uk/article/j ... xyLGNGuylW

Image
Image

"She a complete whore,” Renner then added. “She’s a slut… She has a prosthetic leg anyway.”

The general public, has always given Natasha [the Black Widow] a bad wrap, because she’s a female character. People constantly throw sexist remarks at her, calling her a slut for no reason, etc.

The MCU (marvel comic universe) has always been a white male dominated place, with not much room for women, or POC (people of colour), and we’re really disappointed that Jeremy and Chris didn’t take this question and the interview as an opportunity to emphasise that the sexism given to black widow isn’t okay, but promoted the sexism through their own sexist actions

Way to bury your most popular femal character, guys. Great work.

Meanwhile, at DC:
