Well, it's true, we only know as much as they let us know. :D
But for me, its mostly about the music...the rest is just some way to pass the time while we wait for more music!
That's why I love this forum...lots of leads to things I've never heard before. And it's always good to get the benefit of all the years of research and first hand experience from the people here.
I've learned a lot, and I'm sure I've just scratched the surface of what you all know.

wow....nice find! These guys were the Alien Project...looking at the names on credit notes. For years, Steve repeatedly mentioned Richard Michaels, bass player, died in 4July car crash, days before band was to talk contract with record label. And, Craig Krampt, drummer, wrote & played on Street Talk album. Don't remember the name Deniel Edwards ever mentioned.

Must have just now gotten permission to put these out for public consumption? Will give this guy some notriety, for sure.

Thanks to perryfan61 and to Tater for the links. I love learning about a songs origins. On Deniel Edwards web page http://www.denieledwards.com it states:

"13. In 1977, Deniel Edwards and drummer and good friend Craig Krampf joined forces with bass player Richard Michaels and vocalist Steve Perry prior to the band "Alien" and "Journey". Deniel wrote a series of original music for which Steve Perry added his lyric and melody.

Two songs appear on Journey's Infinity album: "La Do Da", which started out originally as "Something About You Baby" (check out Deniel Edwards Music page,) and the song "Patiently", which Deniel wrote the music for the late Tommy Burns in 1973. A third song "Makes No Difference" appears on Steve Perry's album "Street Talk".

Deniel Edwards has yet to be recognized and compensated for these songs."

I do not know that much regarding copyrights etc. to music, but how can Deniel Edwards publish this 40 years later and claim this as his music without any recognition or compensation for the music ever given? I have to wonder if Journey or Steve Perry knows that he has done this. Just thinking. :?

I found this gem, but I don't think its a demo. I wonder if it isn't actually Journey because it is definitely Perry's 70s era Journey voice. Great stuff!

That's from Journey's King Biscuit Flower Hour special that they recorded in the fall of '78. It was Steve Smith's first gig with them, and they had some additional guest musicians with them (Tommy Johnston from the Doobie Brothers, The Tower of Power horn section, and Annie Sampson and Jo Baker from Stoneground).

Their box set included Good Times, which was recorded at this session. There are some decent versions of the entire show out there, but I wish that they would release an official, digitally remastered version. It's a very unique, one-of-a-kind show for Journey.
