LMAO, got a little tingle in the lady parts from Verslibre's Aquaman news as well. :P Momoa is going to kill it as Aquaman, he's Hawaian and pretty much raised in the water, surfing etc.

Expect bucketloads of aquatic fisticuffs!

 As far as aquatic fisticuffs, he's definitely shown his physicality in battle scenes, i.e., Stargate Atlantis, Conan, Game of Thrones......

Will probably only have a guest shot in this B V S movie, but looking forward to the Aquaman movie down the road. :D

It's now earned more than $300 million worldwide.

This weekend, it's in the #6 position.

Guess what's #7?

Tomorrowland! Haha! :)

And. While you guys argue over this, Universal prepared to release Jurrassic World to smack down all summer movies and have a record setting opening weekend. Dieney/Universal now has the top three biggest openings ever...and we all know SW:TFA will be the next record.

WB seems to like the B movies for specific audiences...they certainly don't seem to know how to capture large ones.

Nobody expected that movie (a franchise reboot masquerading as a sequel) to do as well as it did. Not you, not Universal. I'm not going to watch it (not till DVD), but I bet it will help kick up interest in Legendary's Skull Island, and maybe Marvel will announce a Devil Dinosaur movie.

Now stop being a Debbie Downer and go watch Fury Road before they yank it from theaters!

I am not tempted at all to see a new Mad Max movie. I did see Tomorrowland(meh) and Jurassic World(awesome) though.

El Mayimbe dropped some BvS spoilers on today's DC Movie News. I heard one thing, which is not really a major spoiler, but unexpected, and another tidbit that confirms something implied in the trailer, but at that point I stopped the stream because he was going to get into Batman, Lex and Aquaman stuff. Then they discussed potential storylines for the Wonder Woman film. El Mayimbe was going to drop more info on a Periscope session tonight, but I'm not going there.

Begins didn't save anything. Batman & Robin grossed 230 million total. Less than Batman Forever, but def. not the franchise-destroying disaster it is made out to be. Remember, even Batman Returns made less money than the first Batman, which is why Warner Bros increasingly pushed the Bat series into a more kid-friendly, less dark direction. If Schumacher dropped the bat nipples and the dollar store glow stick aesthetic, the next film probably would've matched the gross of Forever. For the record, both "Batman Forever" and "Batman & Robin" are pretty bad films. But did the series need to be in limbo from 1997-2004? No way. The series didn't need a reboot. It just needed a good film. Look at how the Bond series bounced back from the camp silliness of "Moonraker" with "For Your Eyes only".

Just got back from seeing it. Not much of a plot or character development, but a thrill ride regardless.

True...and "saved the comic book movie" is ridiculous. The Spiderman franchise was going string before this. There were a bunch of lame ones thrown in there...but the Batman reboot did NOT "save" the genre.

There were several attempts to get the next movie going (Schumacher's was Batman Triumphant, IIRC), but for a number of reasons the wheels didn't have enough grease. I don't agree with the guy that the franchise was dead in the water, and he's written some good articles, but I do agree that Begins is the best reboot.

I think what he meant to say was Nolan made the CBM genre appeal to a broader demographic.

Believe me, it's more than that. It's loaded with action, but it's not a Michael Bay film.

Mad Max 4 is the culmination of, literally, decades of development and production. It's the singular vision of one director, George Miller, who is the last of a dying breed, and who simply refused to take "NO" as an answer. It's not some studio hack job hastily slapped together to meet a summer deadline like Avengers 2 (which, if I recall, you were slobbering over). You're way off base here.

Saw Jurassic 4. Def a fun time at the movies. Like the Lost World, it's a ride, but not really a classic. Didn't quite buy Chris Pratt as a macho man. He just comes across as too nice. And Vincent D'Onofrio gave one too many "long bad guy" speeches. B+

I don't care about Mad Max movies. I don't care who is directing it or how many years they were in development. To me they are nothing but Fast and Furious in the desert with Australian accents. The whole concept is lame.

Mad Max inspired an entire genre of post-apocalyptic films and they have all been directed by ONE filmmaker. Comparing it to corporate Hollywood dreck like 'Fast and Furious' is an insult. That's like comparing Star Wars to Killer Klowns from Outer Space or Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. Utterly asshole statement!

Don't be a knob. It's a great concept. Mad Max (1979) and The Road Warrior (1981) launched a conveyor's worth of imitations in the same way the Georges (Romero and Lucas) did.

"Fast & Furious in the desert with Aussies"? Come on. And you're the guy who thinks studio money is better spent on films that don't involve superheroes or zombies?

Looks like Affleck will both direct and star in The Batman, which will be scripted by Terrio. 2018 (tentative).

Good to see WB/DC going the opposite direction and taking care of their directors in the process. To get director's like Snyder, Ayer and even Affleck, the studio has the DCUniverse in the best interest of allowing their director's more control over their vision.

Couldn't agree more. It was great for it's time (The 80's) with Gibson at the helm. It's played out, been there, done that. But I will watch it when it comes to DVD to see for myself just how redundant it is.
