August 12, 2015: Henry Cavill Talks About Big Plans for DC Movies

From the Batman v Superman trailer that came out at Comic-Con, it did seem like the plot was tied into the destruction Superman causes in Man of Steel.

Cavill: "There's a big plan in place at WB for the whole DC franchise. So, all of this stuff ties in. They're not thinking from movie to movie, they're thinking from a big tent pole type thing and each story has its own story, which is attached to the major issue. Yeah, there's a big plan."

So, it's a direct reference to what happened in Man of Steel.

Cavill: "You'll see a lot of that."

Armie Hammer: "I was wondering about that in the trailer! I was like, that is a big building that just got chopped in half. And that's from Man of Steel?"

Cavill: "That's when Zod loses his mind and can't control his heat vision and blasts everything out."

Again, for what it’s worth, while Joss Whedon allegedly had to fight Marvel to include Black Widow in The Avengers, Zack Snyder got permission to, and took the opportunity to, throw Wonder Woman and (presumably) Oracle or Batgirl, two of the more popular female DC Comics characters around, into his movie universe as quickly as he could. And by announcing the so-called DC Universe slate, we also got a stand-alone Wonder Woman movie on the grid after literally decades of hemming-and-hawing.

WB CEO Talks Batman v Superman Release Date Changes
“It was a tough decision at the time because it was going to create a hole in 2015,” he says. “But it was absolutely the right decision for the franchise, for DC and the movie. Having seen the movie multiple times, and again last night, I’m extremely confident it was the right decision to make the movie better. And it’s so important for the studio to get the foundation right on DC.”

Fucker seen the film multiple times. He should rub that shit in more!

George Miller Reportedly Directing Man Of Steel 2
http://comicbook.com/2015/08/21/george- ... f-steel-2/

Everything makes sense and is what I figured and predicted With Snyder busy with BvS and both Justice League movies, he's going to be way too busy to direct MoS2. Enter George Miller, who in a recent interview said he loves DC and has been in talks with WB for a film in the DCEU. He was also in charge of Justice League Mortals back in 2008 so in many ways, Miller is destined to direct a big-time DC hero. Looks like it may be Supes. I'm down!

^Saw this over at CBR.

To which I say...

FUKK YES!

It looks to be all but official, so there's that little grey area, but I hope the proverbial ink is dry. Yet another win for the DCEU.

http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/2015/08/real-life-superboy-4-year-old-kal-el-helps-save-family-from-crash/

A 4-year-old in Trinidad is being celebrated as Superboy for helping to save his mother and aunt after their car drove off a cliff. His name? Kal-El Alleyne, suitably enough.

Trinidad and Tobago’s CCN TV6 reports the family was on their way to Caracas on Tuesday when their car skidded, and Kal-El’s mother Amanda Graham swerved to avoid oncoming traffic, sending the vehicle into a ravine and throwing all three occupants through the back window.

Graham told Kal-El, who of course is named after Superman, to climb about 100 feet up to the road to find help. The Boy of Steel did just that, and flagged down a passerby. His aunt suffered a broken shoulder and his mother a broken rib in the accident, but as you can see from the video below, Kal-El is just fine.

Hell yea bro! I guess it's all but a done deal. The only thing WB and Miller are reportedly discussing as of yet is finalization of the budget.

Will George Miller direct Man of Steel 2?

A while back on either Periscope or on Meet The Movie Press, I dropped the rumor I heard that George Miller might direct the Man Of steel sequel. Miller went up to the set of Suicide Squad to visit with producers and have further talks about it.

Because my buddy Jon Schnepp went on a youtube show to talk about Miller and Man of Steel 2, the internet lost it's mind this morning.

So what is indeed the latest?

Will it happen?

I checked in with sources this morning and here is where we are in terms of Miller & the DCEU.

The sticking point right now is budget. Both sides don't seem to agree at the moment on a budget but my sources think the budget can be worked between both sides.

I'm a student of history. Again, remember Miller had a shooting script and cast ready to go for Justice League Mortal and that fell apart.

So at this point anything is possible. Hence still, the rumor status.

I hope it be can worked out because George Miller would crush a DCEU film.

I'll be following developments as it happens so stay tuned.

'Lex Luthor' Jesse Eisenberg has seen 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice'

During an interview with IGN, Eisenberg was asked to respond to the backlash over his Batman v Superman character's luscious locks.

"People get upset because they feel a connection to it," he replied. "But the movie's great, so they'll be happy when they see it.

"I understand feeling ownership over something, but once they see the movie they'll see how great it is."

He was also coy when asked if Batman v Superman directly references his turn as real-life billionaire Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network.

Miller deserves his own universe to play in. Actually, he already has one. It's called Mad Max. If anything, I would rather see Miller do Justice League.

Saw Ant Man. Def. a rental. Enjoyable, but not a must see. In fact, the flashback sequences with Michael Douglas in action felt more epic than those set in the modern day. Like some have proposed for the latest Fantastic Four, maybe the studio should have went full-blown Silver Age retro with this. Also, not sure how I feel with Paul Rudd's convict/gangbanger roommates being presented as cute and cuddly. It's like an episode of MSNBC's Lock-Up if it aired on the Disney channel. Further stretching disbelief, is how Rudd's character is a two-bit burglar who has a master's degree in electrical engineering? Yea, ok. I can accept a suit that shrinks someone down to a microscopic level or someone riding an ant like a moped, but that is just stupid.

I think it should have been set in the '80s, when Hank Pym was reportedly active as Ant-Man. Scott Lang was the guy who came later in the comic, but there wasn't such a huge age gap between he and Pym. Glossing over Hank's past and Janet's as Wasp was weird, but the movie was a solid entertainer until the last act (most Marvel flicks have a subpar third act). I left some more remarks in the Marvel thread a few weeks back.

Funny you say that. Negotiations of this nature is how these movies usually take place with directors the studio's want for certain movies. Good thing is, both sides of the equation want both things. Warner didn't greenlight a Mad Max sequel. Warner has leverage in negotiations with Miller to be apart of the DCE to do the Man of Steel sequel and then if they come to an agreement, they will give Miller his Mad Max sequel in return. Great thing is, Miller loves DC and wants to do a DC movie badly so it's a win-win for both sides.

Miller will direct a DCEU film and get his Mad Max sequel in the process. BOOM.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of the deal. MoS2 = Mad Max: The Wasteland.

Shit, after Fury Road road, I need another fix. I want to see George do both these movies. It's like getting a secret flavor of Doritos.
