Brady's going to hang atleast 50 on this defense. Too young; not enough depth. The potential is there...so is the speed on Pittsburgh's D but they need a LOT more playing time together. Brady is going to shred us. Who knows..maybe speed does kill. We'll see. Good luck to you too broseph!

It's my understanding there is no football this year. My team went away. I'll consider it.

Sorry, I won't be able to join Pick'ems this year. I'm balancing 2 jobs with going back to college. Not a lot of time in-between for anything else. Thanks for the invite anyway.

BREAKING NEWS: The Patriots under investigation for headset tampering, the use of a rain machine, the use of strong magnets to make the Steelers miss field goals, and the use of an invisibility cloak on Rob Gronkowski making him visible only to the announcers and fans. Because according to my anonymous and imaginary sources several unnamed Steelers players claimed to just see a floating ball moving down the field after Gronkowski receptions. Lengthy investigations, heavy fines, heavy suspensions, and complimentary tin foil hats to protect the opposition from Bill Belichick's long suspected telepathic powers are coming soon. More at 11.

Lots of big time injuries today. Man, a lot of teams saw huge parts of their rosters fall off either temporarily or for the season.

So I guess I'm the big winner in week 1 of the pick ems. 13-3. What I do know is that will not happen again all season, so I'll take it.

Niners looked much better than I thought they would. Hope they can keep up with the division this year. Looks strong. I was not excited for this season at all until 1 second after tonight's game started.

Dilfer and Berman suck ass as commentators. Why ESPN, why?

Niner - Vikings..

Reggie Bush injured (already)

Carlos Hyde looked great.. but with the way he runs he gets hit a lot (he took a knee to the head on one play), and if he gets as many carries per game as he did tonight.... I'd bet he doesn't last the season..

Kaepernick had a very "Alex Smith" game, good ball control, no turnovers... and that is a compliment.

Passing---------Cmp--Att--Yds--TDs
C. Kaepernick---17--- 26--165---0

Passing----Cmp--Att---Yds---TDs
A. Smith---22--- 33 ---243----3

The 9er D played well... but it was against a Viking offense that looked like it needs to find a QB... and a running game...

holy crap did Pittsburg show up today...

I don't see Hyde lasting the season with the way he runs... he came inches from getting his knee blown up on one play, and then got his bell rung... he may be younger than Gore.. but he doesn't make people miss like Gore does..

I've been to a shit load of Steelers games. Today's game was one of the most fun I've been to. It looked like San Fran was in total vanilla mode. Not sure how many games they think they are going to win playing preseason football in the regular season.

Great to see the Steelers respond. You know what team you have when they respond from a week 1 loss. Big Ben is a dude on a mission and the defense came to run through people after a horrible night in NE. Happy to see them respond with a great win.

ya they just took apart the 9ers Dfense....

I knew the Viking game was not going show us who the 9ers really are.. but today was just eye opening..

Pittsburg just gave the NFC West the game plan for beating the 9ers..

I hope the dude is fined for the cheap shot on the knee.

Hyde will be fine. He'll adjust.

Hated the bullshit scheduling of this game. But whatever. They played like shit and I assume they will most of the year. No way any team can lose that many players and have a great year. I just hope they improve and adjust over time. I've never been convinced Kap is the guy - but as much as I hated it I understood the move from a financial standpoint.

What - no Alex stat comparisons? Thought I would get those passive-aggressive-means-absolutely-nothing-posts each week. :)

We've made the trip to the West Coast on a short week multiple times. Sucks, but most teams have to do it.

That said, don't blame the players for having to go low. That's Goondell's NFL for yah. You can't go high so the powers that be want players to go knee level. Hyde runs high, so he had it coming. Can't get fined when it's not even against league rules. They want players to hit low and prevent chest/head injuries. Only QB's are protected against low shots in the pocket. Running backs, it's totally fair game. The Steelers actually had to adjust to those rules. Not saying I agree with it (and neither do the players themselves), but ohwell, it's the current league that's now in place.

If you are arguing that it wasn't a cheap shot, then not really sure what to say. Just agree to disagree.
