B&N finally called me yesterday to say they got in a few copies. They're holding one for me.

Elmaybe is out of control. The new rumor and click bait he's running with is that WB wants more Batman in BvS and less Superman and wants to reshoot scenes...which is absolutely impossible since Snyder only had one hand-held camera and did all the shots by himself. Affleck is currently on the set of his new movie, never to mention that BvS is done and has been seen by many of the cast already.

This is where I bail out until we get more peanuts of information for BvS. Still 6+ months away so these sites and scoopers like Elmaybe are throwing anything they can to their readers. It's dry on the BvS front right now so I refuse to give these sites their clicks. Hell, I no longer believe the George Miller for MoS2 bit since ElMaybe is clearly fucking with it. Time to let the movie do the speaking or until the next trailer comes out.

This is right up there with when Heath Ledger died and reports were that WB was in trouble because they didn't have Heath there to do the rest of the scenes and there was going to be little to no Joker in TDK. Crazy what these douche's will do to lead their army of the brainless.

Endless rivers of... "Doomsday is in BvS...no, it's BiZoddo!" "You're all wrong, it's STARRO!"

It's so deep into postproduction (assuming it still is), that the principal actors and the supporting cast are everywhere but near a WB lot. "Less" Superman? He's one of the two guys with his name in the title.

Did you see Elmaybe run to Chris Miller threatening to "scoop" his Hans Solo casting and Miller came back with "Sure! But, we haven't even begun the casting process yet.." and El Maybe blushed and got the hell out of doge with his dick between his vagina lol.

Fact of the matter is, BvS is SO GUARDED and has been guarded for so long that it's running dry for scoopers. Click bait's the only option.

Snyder just gave an awesome interview and it's what I was waiting for. He basically laughed off the scoopers as not knowing shit. He addressed the "more Batman" rumors and said that's only going to be more towards the beginning of the movie because Ben is an entirely new Batman and we must understand his stance in this movie towards Superman and then it balances out. Common sense stuff that scoopers exaggerate.

I did love what he said about Bats and Supes and their problems towards each other. They are on a different sides of the coin and focus on each others weaknesses. What Superman might see as a weakness to Batman, Batman might see it as being controlled by a God with power.

That got me excited.

This is how I am going to guess the 2016 summer releases will stack up with worldwide sales:

BvS and Civil War - I will guess these both at 750million each. They will both be big hits but I don't think either will reach the heights of the first Avengers movie.

Suicide Squad - I will say 300million. I think it will be a huge disappointment. You will get DC fanboys to go, but I don't see it attracting many people beyond that.

Independence Day 2 - The more I look at how things are shaping, the more I believe ID is set up for a huge draw. This will be the 1billion movie next year. All they need to do is get their marketing going. Independence Day will be 2016's Jurassic Park.

Everything Snyder says confirms what I've more less prefigured BvS to entail. It's going to be a bitchin' movie.

So El Maybe left yet another dropping today: that Enchantress, NOT Joker, is the target of the Suicide Squad. "OMG! WOW! GTFO!" Damn, that dude is going for anything. Literally anything.

Not just DC fans. Joker fans, Will Smith fans, Nolan fans. It will probably get an R-rating, and if it earns 100-150M domestic, it won't be regarded as a failure. Godzilla earned 200M domestic and it took over twelve weeks to get there, but it made over 300M outside America. We can underestimate the global market anymore.

El Maybe ' s new scoop is that MoS 2 will be around 2019 (sounds about right) and that George Miller is deciding between Superman or JL Dark. Brianiac for the sequel.

Great read in its full entirety:

They Are Legend
The Dark Knight and the Man of Steel face off at long last in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Empire revels how director Zack Snyder turned a straightforward sequel into the big bang for a new cinematic universe.

Eh Maybe has confused "scoop" with "guess."

Still, the Miller + Brainiac = MoS2 equation is a fairly sound one.

El Maybe put out another scoop on MoS2. Said the sequel will feature Brianiac pawing Supergirl and Bizarro in an attempt to blindside Supes for possession of the Codex.

That open pod in that Kryptonian scout ship WAS Kara so I'll be on board with a cinematic version of Supergirl in Supe's next film. They left enough meat on the bone for this to happen, plot wise.

Now this is starting to sound better. This Brainiac would no doubt be the updated cyborg who will make the cinematic Ultron look like the Tin Man.

Speaking of Guardians of the Galaxy...

I was reading an interview with Gunn where he said the only scifi shows he really watched were Star Trek and Farscape. I think he watched Farscape a lot more based on his take on Guardians.

Guardians totally ripped off Farscape. Shamelessly so. "Starlord" was pretty much John Crichton right down to the non-stop pop cultural references. Movie was smug derivative garbage.

And hey, fuck the scifi chanel (or is that now syfy?) for cancelling Farscape to free up money for Battlestar Galactica. Between the two programs, Farscape was vastly superior. Even when Farscape sucked, it was still trying different things and interesting.

GOTG is Gunn's vision. They could have put any five main characters in there. The real Star-Lord (the one that appeared in the '70s) was a far more serious character and nothing like Pratt. No mixtape, either. The first Guardians didn't even consist of those particular characters when they first appeared, and the ones in the movie, like Rocket Raccoon, appeared separately in various comics.

The MCU is the result of mucho tampering to generate maximum moola.

Imo it's Gunn ripping off Farscape. Pratt was an unlikable dickhead. "Dance off, bro?" Cringe.

Par for Marvel's course. I enjoyed the movie, but nothing more than a good date movie with my wife. I liked what they did with the whole intergalactic teammup, but I walked out once the dance-off started. Too much for me to handle. Cringe worthy indeed.

Zack Snyder said BvS is technically Man of Steel 2

“I think in a way Batman v Superman is Man of Steel 2,” said Snyder, making it sound like a standalone Superman sequel is definitely not DC's highest priority right now. “Justice League is kind of the transcendent, knights-of-the-round-table of the story. It'd be interesting to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be.”

I don't care if GotG is a rip-off. So what. You can argue that Farscape was a ripoff of the GotG comics...of a ripoff of "Blakes 7". Like Crichton said, "Ah, screw it. But I am not Kirk, Spock, Luke, Buck, Flash or Arthur frelling Dent. I'm Dorothy Gale from Kansas." The truth is, he was all of the above, and the writers stole bits of all of those characters to make Crichton. If Farscape can claim a huge influence over GotG, I say it's a good thing....as long as it's done well, and it was.

SyFy got caught up in trying to duplicate BSG's "shock drama" (ie: who is going to be murdered, raped, and who are we going to see frakking who, or who is going to snap what general's neck...same thing and BSG did it first). So, the SyFy original series started sucking. Right now, the only decent series on the channel is Dark Matter...and it's barely above average. Maybe The Expanse will be better - I don't know.

I don't think that's true...In the interviews I have read, Marvel does not have the movie rights to some of the characters. But, yeah, I think he picked and chose characters to use as he wanted....

And, as far as his vision:

A plant-person who is a loving and caring soul but can be bad-ass when needed - Zahn/Groot.
An Earth man swept away to who knows where in the galaxy - Crichton/Starlord
A warrior type person who has an issue with metaphors - D'Argo/Drax
A female warrior alien who become the love interest of the Earth dude - Aeryn/Gamora
A smallish talking animal - Rygel/Rocket

The MCU is the result of mucho tampering to generate maximum moola.

Or, it's adjusting the stories to film rather than comics.
