By now, folks are very familiar with the way Marvel Studios works. What at first seemed like a very out of the ordinary approach—forming a “Brain Trust” of creative-types to hash out the studio’s inter-connected universe plans—has now become commonplace for any big studio wanting to enact a big multi-franchise blueprint. The one that’s probably of most interest to fans, of course, is the Brain Trust over at Warner Bros., which is putting together that studio’s slate of inter-connected DC Comics adaptations.
Obviously Warner Bros. has a very different approach to how it makes its superhero films than Marvel does, but up until now, little was known about exactly how they set about crafting their own interconnected universe. Luckily, Steve recently got the chance to sit down with Atlas Entertainment President and Founder Charles Roven, who produced Christopher Nolan’s Batman films as well each entry in the current slate of DC adaptations, from Man of Steel to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to the upcoming Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman.
As one of the key producers involved in bringing these massive superhero properties to life, Steve took the opportunity to ask Roven if the Warner Bros. DC Cinematic Universe Brain Trust is indeed made up of himself, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, and DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns.

The references to Superman are way overdone and it's "girl girl girl girl girl" for the entirety of the show with no care for the many subplots taking place. I just feel the show lacks balance with so much being thrown at the screen, but it's still early. Television is tough when you're introducing new things to an iconic family such as Superman's but the show seems one-note thus far.
I was hoping Superman wouldn't be that much involved so Kara would have more of the spotlight, but the heavy references are forcing the show and viewers to want Supes to show up, especially since it makes no sense to have a "no Superman clause" when villains from Krypton are showing up right away. I saw the trailer for E3 and Superman comes to help Kara. Though he's blurred, I think it adds more weight to the name drops every 5 seconds and is better for the show overall if they address Superman early so Kara can have more of the spotlight. They should only use Supes when the story calls for it. The problem is the constant name-drops to Supes. It's a contradicting feeling when they don't want Superman to appear much and have James Olsen be that constant mouthpiece between the two. Glad Kal's atleast showing up next Monday.

I didn't know DC had the rights to Calvin and Hobbes.

While Steve joked that he’d like to see a 4-hour version of the film, Roven actually revealed that something a little longer may be available eventually, though he was vague as to whether it’s an extended cut or if he’s just cheekily referring to the finished film itself:“I don’t know if you’ll ever get the 4-hour version, but there may be something that’s coming along that might be slightly less long than that.”

He talks a lot of Aquaman, but doesn't give away much. 10:40-12:40 he defends Man of Steel and stands up for his boi Supes..literally lol. The entire interview is golden and I love the way he handles the girl who drew him a picture of his characters. The man may look menacing, but he has a huge heart and is one of the coolest guys around. He also talks about his "Fuck Marvel" signature for a fan:

Deb, was that you that asked the last question?
