The genius of Supernatural and Shaman was the pairing of Carlos w/ Rob Thomas and Michelle Branch (among others) that gave Santana mainstream appeal. Think about Lady Gaga or Katy Perry trading licks with the likes of Carlos & Neal. THAT would equal "monster."

Umm, you do realize this site is called melodic rock, right? Gaga or Perry sounds like a fucking horrible idea.

Pardon me, Capt. Narrow-Mind. First of all, Gaga has one of the most truly powerful voices I've ever heard. I didn't say Taylor Swift, for example, who -by the way - has enjoyed way more crossover appeal that she deserves (see Def Leppard/Crossroads). And as for Katy Perry, her strongest musical influence - by her own admission - is Queen. Her first album (released under the name Katy Hudson) was produced by Glen Ballard - who did Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill. At heart, she is a rock artist.

Love the old Santana radio singles, with GR's voice. This new song is very reminiscent of those songs.

The first single, Anywhere you want to go, also has vocals by Gregg and sounds very cool and classic Santana sound. Gregg wrote that one.
