I read somewhere that this dude rented an entire theater for himself and his family for the 24th. That's pretty insane lol.

I'm looking forward to the film. I already know it'll be exponentially better than that Disney tripe called Star Wars.

There's NO reason to rent out an entire theatre for ONE family. I hope he chokes on a kernel of popcorn, and his wife refuses to give him back row theatre head.

JK Simmons cast as Commissioner James Gordon in Justice League Part 1.

Damn, that's really good casting right there.

The screening's are taking place. Reactions from critics are positive:

BATMAN V SUPERMAN press screenings took place today, and the reaction from critics is positive.

Chris Sylvia, VP of Media @RegalMovies, gave it two thumbs up.

I'm smiling this morning. Can't really tell you why. Anyway, I'm off to the gym. Why? Because ever since I was a little kid, I've always wanted to look like Batman and Superman...

Great example. And yea, I have doubts whether we will see a ST3. I know Orci is allegedly directing, but the sequel (which I enjoyed) didn't set the world on fire. After the hype of the first film, it almost seems like Trek is mired in the pop cultural rut of the UPN Voyager days.

If I am not mistaken, when I was at the movies recently I saw a trailer for ST3. I remember it because the trailer didn't make any sense to me as to what the story line of the movie was supposed to be.

Yeah, Star Trek Beyond is (nearly) done. It's real. We'll see if it's more successful than the first two movies.

I can barely refresh some forums. BvS is taking over:

Geez , 1500 viewers in BVS subforum , I've never seen it that high before

Got a last second call to see Batman V Superman. Im so speechless. I'm so glad Snyder got a hold on Batman... And Terrrio. Fucking Terrio got me on Team Supes for a little bit. I'm not even gonna lie. If people honestly hate this... they're doing it just to hate. I think even Duck is going to be pleased.

First off, the screening itself was packed. I mean packed. I thought Star Wars was nuts, this took this to the next level. At least the NDAs weren't as bad. Just to expand on that a bit, the way Disney handled TFA's secrecy, which I'm sure fans approved of, was a nightmare to deal with honestly. Really cool to see so many people out to see Batman and Superman in a live action movie on big screen.

Cavill didn't blow me away in MoS but in this film, weirdly I feel like he gets more to work with. It was the first time Superman actually feels like he's a character who deals with many issues to me. His relationship with Lois (played by Amy Adams) deserves mention here, even if not a lot of screentime.

Cavill and his interactions with Affleck, especially the fights, are truly something to behold. Definitely worth the price of a ticket in my opinion. I could swear some of the scenes are probably something straight out of a dark graphic novel.

Who got more screentime? Batman or Superman? I'd say it was about equal, but it certainly did feel like Batman might have gotten slightly bit more, but who knows. I didn't bring a stop watch with me.

Eisenberg chosen as Luthor was perfect honestly to me. I know there's a ton of concern over it, but he made it work. He's also hilarious with a dark sort of humor, but he's a very scary person in general.

It will absolutely be more successful than ST:TMP. It may be more successful than ST:TWoK, but not better. There is no way ti will do better than the LAST two movies tho. The first one had the hype of the reboot and the second one had Khan...a very bad Khan that turned a lot of people off to the reboot movies.

SOURCE: BvS is "Darker" Than MAN OF STEEL; Tone more like WATCHMEN
I DO know a few folks who have seen BvS and all of them really liked it. In fact, no one I know who has seen it had anything negative to say about it.

Spoiler free:

Let me say this right up front: I have NOT seen BATMAN v SUPERMAN…yet. I am seeing it soon and I will be under an embargo which I will honor; thus, my own thoughts/opinions on the film – including social media posts – will not be seen until the embargo is lifted.

However, I DO know a few folks who have seen BvS and all of them really liked it. In fact, no one I know who has seen it had anything negative to say about it. Another common thread from all these unrelated "Friends of BOF"/sources is that BvS is nothing like a Marvel Cinematic Universe film. It’s darker, less “comic-booky,” if you will, and more “realistic” than any MCU film. None of these individuals – who do like the Marvel films – meant this as a knock on the MCU; it’s just the fact of the matter.

Yesterday, another FOBOF emailed me and asked if I had seen BvS yet. He had and was “dying to talk to someone about it.” I told him that I had not and to PLEASE not spoil it for me. With that said, I did ask him a few questions about BvS and he answered them – under the caveat that I didn’t want to know any specifics, plot points, etc. In other words, I didn’t want the film to be spoiled for me! He obliged and here’s his non-spoilerish thoughts on BvS…

* Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor are the standouts as has been previously reported.

* This new Batman is brutal and doesn't hold back.

* The portrayal of Lex is a very modern take on the character. He's completely two-faced and the trailers don't do him justice.

* Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince is great, but her role is quite small.

* All references to future JUSTICE LEAGUE characters is handled very well and the film doesn't feel crammed or rushed – the 2.5 hours flew by!

The film is really dark – maybe even darker than Chris Nolan’s Batman films. It's definitely darker than MAN OF STEEL. It’s closer to WATCHMEN in my opinion than THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY or MAN OF STEEL

* The reason why Batman and Superman are against each other is handled in a very organic manner and there are some fantastic parallels drawn between these two very different characters.

* A LOT happens and screen time isn’t wasted!

* It's not what I expected; but having said that, its one of the reasons I'm dying to see it again (as are a couple of other people I know who've seen it).

I know that this is a film that I'm going to like. I'm a fan of the "dark, serious, and real world" tone that the DCEU powers-that-be have said they are going for. How this will play with the mainstream audience reamains to be seen. What do you think? Post your thoughts in the comments section below!

Chris Terrio. THEE X-factor!

"Given the scale, you would think the whole thing has a corporate stench, but the way we worked there was this quality of, ‘I can’t believe they’re letting us do this.' In superhero stories, Batman is Pluto, god of the underworld, and Superman is Apollo, god of the sky. That began to be really interesting to me—that their conflict is not just due to manipulation, but their very existence."

Batman-news.com:

"For “Batman v Superman, I wanted to really dig into everything from ideas about American power to the structure of revenge tragedies to the huge canon of DC Comics to Amazon mythology." -

^Zack Snyder executed this very well, and it was beautiful to see.

I kind of wish I was still in everyone's shoes, eager and anxious to see this film. All in all, hype met and exceeded expectations.

Zack Snyder is expanding his skills, and bringing other elements to the CBM genre. If movie goers do not see that and want to stick with the popcorn flicks, then it's their loss, it'll be a shame really, shame...

Lex Luthor is on par with Ledger's Joker. Intense and menacing.

^Another TDK comparison. Seems like Jesse's Luthor is the real deal. That excites me since since Day 1 , he was the most intriguing to me.

Seeing Cloverfield 2 tonight. The "non-sequel sequel" looks kinda like a M. Night Shyamalan film. I've avoided spoilers, but I think I figured out the twist....Goodman is reprising his role of Dan Conner from TV's Roseanne. The monster outside the cellar is his fatass wife on the rag. Just a guess.

Official countdown is on. 10 days (for me) until the 3 year long wait to see BvS. The Embargo for the critics was going to be lifted the 23rd, but it could be lifted and moved up to the 20th. Some more reactions from the people who saw it (they are all consistent)

The movie is fast-paced, especially in the last act, almost left the viewer's breathless. Very emotional.
BvS is Zack Snyder's best work
Ben's Bruce/Batman is the most comic-accurate rendition.
Henry's performance has improved from that in MoS, since Superman has lots of problems to deal with.
Gal has very little screentime, but she shines brightly.

I went to the IMAX event (when I sent you that poster, v) and WB sent over my free IMAX screening on the 21st; 10pm. I'm passing though because my nearest IMAX is 2 hrs away and I don't have the necc schedule to ride out, so me and my group are going Thursday night, the 24th. I'm becoming numb from Uber excitment!

El Maybe can't say much, but after his meetings and consultants, the word is BvS is fresh with critics when it comes to Rotten Tomatoes. So far, the word is overwhelmingly positive. Let's hope there's no letdown.

Newest report with ticket sells is that BvS is outpacing Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises and Fast and the Furious 7 in ticket sells.

The WB Ninjas are in full force. More-so than they've ever been regarding a movie. The embargo lifts soon. Many of the critics who disliked Man of Steel are posting positive reactions like these and WB is shooting them down faster than a speeding bullet:

This was one of my favorite:

"Batman V Superman is a way better Superman movie than Man of Steel was, Super fans. You're in for a treat"

Lets just do this fucking thing already.
