The same goes for Daredevil (which has its share of defenders) and Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven.

The extended Daredevil is good, but not a classic. It still suffers from the same issues as the regular cut. They should have waited to introduce Electra. Also, the whole "Kingpin killed my dad" thing seems like they are ripping off Batman 89 with the Joker killing the Waynes.

I don't like the movie itself. What's really weird, though, is that way back then I thought Ben would be the best guy to play DD...and then he actually did. I didn't even need a Magic 8-Ball!

The whole movie rushed everything, too. Especially Elektra. That requires an entire movie (or in the "now" case, a season, which is exactly what they're doing). I didn't like the direction, so I'd sooner pretend that movie doesn't exist. I never liked Jen as Elektra.

You have now ruined my day, v. Thanks!

For Superman Returns' 10th year anniversary, the wife and I popped it in the DVD the other night. She ripped it to shreds. She said many things, but my favorite was "What's with that suit? BAH!" and "Superman is a sissy in this! Now I see why you like Man of Steel so much.." and that was my beloved Superman Returns wife review in a nutshell.

LOLOL! I remember watching this in the theater, thinking that since it's a long movie (turned out to be 154 minutes), you KNEW the big bad was going to jump out sometime...who would it be? Bizarro? Metallo? ZOD, pray tell? No, we got a BIG ASS GREEN HUNK OF ROCK. I thought, shit, if I wanted to watch this again, I'd have just thrown Superman '78 in the player!

For all the shit BvS sustained about meeting its combined budget, Returns didn't even break even at the B.O. And it no doubt got a boost in home video sales thanks to MoS. And people prefer that shit to Snyder's film? GTFO.

To elaborate more on the wife's SR review, the moment James Marsden showed up, it was game over. She loves him so it was tough for Supermangina to compete at that point. I really like Marsden too and he completley out-acted Routh in all phases and was the better written character. I was pulling for Richard White in a Superman movie, so I think I'm just going to write a letter into WB asking them to change the 'Superman Returns' title to "Richard White Begins". Nobody will fucking notice anyhow

The oft-most referenced complaint/compliment about the movie, that James > Brandon. Nice job, writers & director.

 Did you see James in Sex Drive, that comedy with Seth Green? Hilarious flick.

Yeah!

Justice League

Simmons still has one more trip to London to go to wrap his work as Commissioner Gordon on the action-adventure flick (due Nov. 17, 2017), but he says his time on set with Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Ezra Miller (Barry Allen/The Flash), Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), director Zack Snyder, and more has already “been a fun experience, and knock wood, if it continues, then I’ll hopefully get to play Commissioner Gordon in a handful of movies.” Fingers crossed for that, but more immediately, what’s in store for Simmons’ take on the familiar Batman ally?

“People of my generation remember Commissioner Gordon as this jolly, ineffectual Santa Claus type, and I think over the years in the comics there’s definitely much more of a badass side to him,” Simmons explains. “One of the things that’s interesting to me is investigating hopefully a little bit more of that badass [side]…You’re living in a universe where it’s pretty tough to be a badass compared to somebody like Batman, but in the universe of non-superheroes I like the idea of Commissioner Gordon as a guy that can take care of himself, a guy that’s a real partner to Batman, not just a guy that turns on the bat signal and goes, ‘Help! Help, Batman!’”

Invictus' Julian Lewis Jones has joined the cast of Justice League. Rumored role: Kanto, another character from Jack Kirby's Fourth World. (Or he could be Steppenwolf, for all we know.)

David Ayer says SUICIDE SQUAD offers a unique opportunity in showing Batman from the criminals' point of view; calls Batman "freaking scary."

“All the Batman movies have been from Batman’s point of view. He’s the good guy. He’s the hero of his own movie in all the movies we’ve seen. If you look at what Bruce Wayne has done in creating the Batman persona, his idea was to terrorize criminals. It’s sort of psychological warfare against criminals. This wraith that comes in the night and attacks and pulls criminals from society. For the first time, we’re seeing Batman from the point of view of the criminals and he’s freaking scary.”

I'm there on Thursday or Friday. The first visual glimpse of Batman in BvS was by far one of the best ever. That scene was akin to a horror film.

In less than two weeks, Warner Bros. Pictures promises to thrill San Diego Comic Con attendees with its admittedly stellar presentation. The convention’s revered Hall H will be jam-packed with both fans and industry insiders as the studio brings projects such as Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad, The LEGO Batman Movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and several others to an international audience.

Warner Bros. will kick-off their busy presentation on Saturday, July 23rd at 11:30 AM with late-night host Conan O’Brien orchestrating the event. Fans can expect to see tons of stars appear during the presentation like those listed below:

•“Wonder Woman” stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Connie Nielsen and director Patty Jenkins.

• “Suicide Squad” stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne, Adam Beach and Karen Fukuhara, along with writer/director David Ayer.

• Director Chris McKay and star Will Arnett from “The LEGO Batman Movie.”

Warner Bros. President of Worldwide Market and Distribution, Sue Kroll, released a statement highlighting the studio’s impressive appearance this year. She said, “Comic-Con is one of our favorite annual events and we’re thrilled to have an extraordinary lineup of films to highlight this year. It’s always exciting for us to give these fans a taste of what we’re bringing to theaters in such a direct way, connecting them with the talented actors and filmmakers who work so hard to make everyone’s movie-going experience a memorable one.”

Aside from their Hall H event, Warner Bros. will be hosting a several activities at SDCC’s Exhibitor Floor. There will be a Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them station where fans can find their destined magical wand. There will also be several autograph sessions for films like King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and more. And, of course, LEGO will be in full-force as Warner Bros. plans to have LEGO artists building real-time models of characters like Batman, Batgirl, and the Joker.
