But you are right if true, she's probably not going to write anymore of her own speeches.

God she is HOT!

Even if she did write the speech herself someone on his team should have checked it. Which it's obvious they didn't or did a very poor job of it.

I think it's a loud statement about one of the big problems in this country that the biggest headline from the first night of the RNC is that Melonia used some of the same generic, First Lady speech, wording as Michelle.

The problem I'm referring to is the media. With all the real problems we have, like our FBI having their hands tied on a clear security breach by an official, all they want to talk about is this supposed "plagiarism".

Does anyone who hasn't made up their mind really watch the conventions? Or is it just the partisans watching so that they can congratulate/tear down their nominee and surrogates? Are they even necessary, beyond the formality of voting on a nominee?

In this day and age I would say no they don't. I would say all these are is a party's jerk fest.

Kind of my thoughts as well. It should be interesting to see if the Democrats are any more unified than the clowns at the Republican side in Cleveland.

With how divided the U.S. population is as a whole, I don't know how anyone could expect either party to really be truly unified.

K.C.Journey Fan wrote:OH HELL YES! Now if he'll just pick Bolton for Secritary of State.

Donald Trump has made yet another announcement that will dismay Democrats across the country, and that is his choice for Attorney General. Trump tweeted that his pick for Attorney General is South Carolina conservative Rep.Trey Gowdy, who currently chairs the U.S. House of Representative’s Select Committee on Benghazi.

Gowdy has been a constant thorn in the Obama administration’s side, and has exposed the White House’s incompetence on everything from amnesty to IRS abuses to the illegal deletion of Clinton’s emails.

Trump’s tweet read, “@HillaryClinton’s toast. Dems had better get the”B Team” off the bench. @TGowdySC for Attorney General under President Trump.” This tweet came right on the heels of an announcement that Trump would want Sarah Palin on his Cabinet.

Trump is looking to build a team of influential conservative leaders who have fought against the liberals. He and Gowdy share the same no-nonsense style.

From what I have seen of Gowdy, this is a very good choice. Question is, if Trump is successful, will Gowdy spell trouble for Hillary.

For you Facebookers; if you want to see a spectacle, go read some of the comments on the Democratic Party's page. After the Wikileaks release of the DNC emails, and after her announcement of her VP pick, people are jumping the Clinton ship, right and left. I think she's going to get badly beaten in the general election, the likes of which haven't been seen since Reagan was elected. Gonna see a lot of blue go red this year. For anyone still saying Trump can't win, tighten your lug nuts, you're in for a ride to remember.

What a lame prediction. They were already basically even. In the past, they were getting around 10pt bump from the convention...Trump is getting less than 5pts. That is not good. After the Democrat convention, Clinton should be ahead between 5-10pts.

Since Trump is not really trying to appeal to anybody new, there is no way he can win.

You know, I kinda felt that way in 2012 with Mitt but I never felt overly confident

Bullshit. You were quoting poll after poll right up to the day before the election. You were supposedly "marking posts" to rub people's face in the results. The only reason you are not doing that this election is because Clinton is ahead in almost every poll...and it has been that way from the start.

this time seems really different, despite Monkers protestations.

It's only different because you have a loudmouthed asshole nominated on the Republican side. The Demographics are EXACTLY the same...except there are fewer old white males, and more Mexicans, blacks, women, gays and other minorities....and there is the fact that some Republicans hate Trump so much that they will "vote their conscience" and vote for either Clinton or the Libertarian party. Even you said after the last election that Democrats won because they won with women and minrites...those groups are not Trumps strong area - at all. So, you are looking at a situation where the same will happen FOR A THIRD TIME.

Are Republicans really so stupid they can learn after losing three times in a row?

Clinton will win with an ever grater margin than when Obama was reelected.

Traditionally, they have gotten that kind of bump. This year things are so wacky, I don't know if that will hold. I won't be surprised if it does, but won't be surprised if it doesn't. I think it will all come down to turnout. If Sanders' people stay home now that the wikileaks thing is out, and conservatives stay home because they can't stand the Donald, all bets are off IMO.

The problem is the system itself. These are the two worst candidates either party has nominated since Harding and Dukakis. Anyone under the illusion America is the zenith of democracy has been watching too much MSNBC or Fox.

Horse shit. They are tied at the moment. Wait until Monday when the Wiki Leaks emails hit the news. Sanders people might just burn Philly down. After all, another thing these emails proved was that all the violence at Trump rallies were caused by Sanders and Clinton people.

You are such an idiot. This has already been on the "news". I saw it on CNN the day of Trump's crazy speech.

And, "the violence at Trump rallies were causes by Sanders and Clinton people." Wow, that's a huge revelation there. It's like those months of accusations just never happened.

What you have is a huge amount of wishful thinking.

And, my point still stands. 4yrs ago FF was quoting poll after poll, and bragging about how accurate Zogby was, or whatever his favorite was at that time. Trump has NEVER been in the same position in the polls that Romney was. FF had expressed a lot more enthusiasm for Romney than he has for Trump...and he posted nearly daily polls to prove it...and his posts saying he was going to rub everybody's face with the results further prove it.

It's a bit 'wacky' because Trump is a bit wacky. Trump is not going to get much of a bump because he did NOTHING to expand his voting base. All he is doing is trying to appeal to Tea Party Republicans and those who feel disenfranchised. At the same time, he is alienating far too many people. Romney had his 47% quote (saying 47% will vote for Obama no matter what). Trump is essentially doing the same thing...but throwing in insults along the way. He is basically giving Clinton the Hispanic vote and the women vote and the black vote and Muslim vote and native American vote and...

Clinton, on the other hand, is now able to move to the center...which is what Kaine represents. She can afford to do that because Trump is GIVING her so many voters, and Sanders and Warren are backing her so she doesn't need to cater to the left any longer. So, I would expect a 5-10pt bump from Clinton, which far exceeds Trump < 5pt bump. Early next week, I expect Clinton will be up by around 10pts.

As of the night of Trumps speech, as many pols had Trump ahead as Clinton. It's a tie. Just because you think something won't make it fact.[/quote]

I already said this very thing in a prior post that tj quoted. Grow the fuck up.

My point is FF was all in for Romney for months quoting polls and drooling at the notion of him winning. THAT IS THE TRUTH.

The FACT that he has not been doing that this election is because Trump has trailed THE ENTIRE ELECTION...and FF's ego got burned 4yrs ago. Trump is NOT ahead and FF knows this. He's not out there marking posts for bragging because he KNOWS it is very far from a sure thing.

Trump gained less than 5pts from his convention to bring it to a tie. Unless you are a moron you know that this is not a permanent thing...but I guess I consider who I am talking to when I say such things.

Than vote for Gary Johnson.

People like you whine and make such complaints but still vote their party anyway. If all the whiners voted Libertarian, which they probably agree more with anyway, things may be shook up enough for something to actually change.
