I'm going to say something that will send Monker into a tailspin.

I think Zack should direct it. No, really. Look at Man of Steel. I'll take more of that.

He doesn't need a gigantormous budget, either. MoS's budget is listed as 225 million. That's because a part of that is the money they spent on development when BS was still attached to a sequel to Returns.

The other night, Ender's Game was on FX or AMC, I forget which. That movie is almost entirely CG. It doesn't look cheap, either. I went and looked and apparently, the estimated production budget was around 110 million. Harrison Ford, Viola Davis and Ben Kingsley are in the movie, so it's not like they had no-names. But I expected the movie to have cost more than 110M to make!

Man of Steel 2 can be made for well under 200M. There's no Robert Downey, Jr. to fork over 30-40 million to.

Holy legs for SSQUAD!

Friday Box Office: 'Sully' Tops Again, 'Suicide Squad' And 'Don't Breathe' Hold Strong
And Suicide Squad continues to rewrite the rulebook on post-second weekend legs, as the DC Comics caper earned $1.18m (-19%) for a likely $4.4m (-22%) seventh weekend and $313.5m cume, just past Iron Man 2 ($312m in 2010 and in 2D).

http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendel ... a0ca030ffd

The SSQUAD box office now stands at:

Domestic: $310,252,332
+ Foreign: $399,300,000
= Worldwide: $709,552,332

With China, this thing would have been WELL over $800 mil. Domestically, SSQUAD will probably hit $320 mil DOM. That's just crazy awesome.

Suicide Squad is officially "leggier" than Civil War, according to Forbes' Scott Mendelson.

That also means 320-325M domestic is going to happen.

Comparing apples to oranges. CW came out at the start of summer ahead of other summer blockbusters. Of course people move on. Why not compare SS to the previous August record opening, GOTG?

*Exactly! That is an advantage, not a disadvantage. And as an Avengers film, for it to be "out-legged" by Suicide Squad is remarkable.

**Squad's been compared to GOTG since it came out. It clobbered GOTG's opening weekend, but since it won't open in China, it won't make as much worldwide.

Maybe it pisses people off, but Squad's a hit.

Supergirl's Season 2 Premiere Is One of the Best Hours of Superhero TV Ever Created

There's no better way to start this off: the season two premiere of Supergirl is one of the best hours of live-action superhero television ever created. It's utterly joyful television that perfectly communicates the wonder, fun, and action of the best superhero comics.

I was against the guy playing Superman in the super girl show. This was based on Photoshop pictures. The tv spot looks good, might change my mind.

I'm apart of many Super and Fandom boards and I know not to get too judgemental with over photoshopped pics of officially released photos. The first official photo of Tyler as Superman was awful, but Benoist looked awful as well. You can tell they photoshopped the shit out of their heads that look copy and pasted. I waited for the behind the scenes photos of Tyler as Superman and it was convincing where I knew his look wasn't a problem. I really like his look. He fits right in to the show and world the Supergirl show created and his look is distinctly different than Cavill's Superman. The trailer proved he looks great in motion and has a good voice. This is the classic Superman that old timers want to see in the character. Tyler's Superman will probably be a test run to see how people will respond to the classic Supes and take those elements and incorporate those things into Cavill's Superman. The shows tend to do that and take elements of what works and apply it to the big screen. I expect Cavill's Superman from here on out to have sprinkled classical elements of the Superman character, especially in his next solo film.

http://batman-news.com/2016/10/02/ben-affleck-talks-negative-batman-v-superman-response-and-reviews-it-himself/

Affleck was asked about the negative reviews that Batman v Superman received earlier this year, and he gave a really great response!

“It’s interesting… it was a huge hit movie, more people went to see that than any movie I’ve ever made in my career. It was the biggest hit of my career and then it had a lot of editorial negativity.”

“Fans went, and it got a lot of positive response. It was interesting, that movie, because it was judged not necessarily on execution so much as its tone. People seemed to want to have a lighter tone to the movie, and I thought that was interesting. Tone isn’t a qualitative thing. It’s subjective, right? Some tones resonate with me that might not with you. And the tone of the movie was really parallel to the Frank Miller book (The Dark Knight Returns), which I liked and thought was great. I’m glad that so many people went and so many people liked the movie.

When asked specifically what he thought of the movie, Affleck replied “I loved it.”

I can't wait for Wonder Woman and Justice League.

So we may not get The Batman till 2019. Wise move, actually. Don't rush it. Make an amazing movie. Build up anticipation.. I'm really curious as to what they're cooking up for MoS2. Brainiac simply must be the antagonist.

Affleck is opening up about 'The Batman' more but you can tell he wants to get it right and not rush it. Affleck knows what he's doing and WB will listen to him. He's made it known he wants to have an air tight script. Joe M slipped and said his Deathstroke starts filming in Spring 2017, so who know's exactly when they'll start shooting. Maybe before Spring but you figure they'll shoot throughout 2017 and spend a good portion of 2018 in post production so the dates are lining up for a Summer 2019 release.

I think his Batman will definitely one-up Nolan's, and considering how revered The Dark Knight is, that is no mere hurdle.

Btw, The Accountant looks awesome.

Sure does. Affleck has regained his IT factor and bravo on WB noticing his arrow pointing upwards before the brink of breakout (The Town, Argo, Gone Girl.) Affleck is caught in a resurgence period in his career and is a steal for WB and the DCEU. Looking to see 'The Accountant' very soon in theaters. Looks really good and the type of movie Hollywood can hang their hat on as far as giving us something unique and interesting to a curious audience. Affleck is striving in his targeted genre's.

In case anyone was wondering, Suicide Squad's legs have been mighty impressive. The run should be coming to an end here soon (my theater still has a handful of showings.) As of 10/18/2016, here are the numbers:

Domestic: $323,789,076
Foreign: $420,400,000
-------------------------------
WW: $744,189,076

Squad should settle around $750 mil WW (without China. With China, this thing would have pushed $900 mil WW.)

Very good numbers. Who would have thought at the beginning of the year that SSQUAD would come only a few million away, domestically, to BvS's totals? In regards to what happened to BvS, this was the best possible case scenario for the DCEU. Wonder Woman should blow the hinges off the doors, allow Justice League in and then have the others take it from there with groundwork to a new phase. Going to be a great run in the Geoff Johns era.

SKWAD smoked everyone's predictions. I didn't think it would get anywhere near 750M. It's only 4 big ones away from Days of Future Past's haul!

SKWAD also beat Deadpool's int'l take. Nobody saw that coming.
