Jonathan Cain Solo Music Video

Eh, at least he's not rolling on the beach with Paula (like Neal/White House Crasher in the Resonate video).

Nice song.

Wow. This is a good song. Not one mention of god/Jesus/thefather/thesavior. Maybe the guy who helped write all those classic Journey songs is still in there somewhere.

Decent song, but when is Jon gonna learn that he can't sing? Should have brought in Deen for this.

Nice sing and video. He can still write, but should leave the vocals to someone who could do this song justice.

Similar to this, which was a bonus track for Revelation (or was it Generations?):

Agreed, good tune. But is it just me? This sounds like a swan song...
"when it's time to leave the dance..."
"remembered for the songs you leave behind..."

Jon sounds like he's either got one foot in the grave or retirement.

Probably a feeling you get when you write a book about your life. And I think he's comfortable with the idea of where he's at. Pretty sure he knows his time for being at the top of the charts is long past.

The song sounded great. It is not like he is going on tour alone with just his piano to sing all the Journey songs.

I like it and the guitar riff toward the end. I thought the playing sounded familiar and I see, in the credits, it's Miles Schon.

Aside from Cain singing and writing this, I don't really hear much of a similarity.

I feel like Cain wanted to name his autobiography, "The Songs You Leave Behind."
But his publisher talked him into cashing in on DSB-mania.

I could hear Perry singing this....

Me too. What about Arnel? Could this be refined into a Journey song with a bit more up tempo?

I think it's a personal song to Jon. I don't think it should be on a Journey cd.

Faithfully's lyrics refer broadly to life on the road as musician. Songs You Leave Behind specifically talks about the struggles of a songwriter. Just because Jon wrote a good solo song doesn't mean he has to give it to Journey.

Very good tune. He doesn’t attempt to much vocally and it doesn’t require it, good job on this.
